went into it pessimistic and a little peaved that the game didnt look esports-friendly.

extremely surprised that i enjoy it! its not over complicated and is intensely enjoyable. not sure how it will go as an esport, but i see this as a polished card game that attracted me, a non card game player.

AWESOME.

The base game has an incredible amount of content including over a dozen campaigns with even more content available in multiplayer. The extraordinary variety of user made content eclipses that of most other modable games; downloadable game music, thousands of optional units to download at will, expansive multiplayer coop campaigns, and an overwhelming amount of player-created mutiplayer maps and gamemodes makes this a game with nigh unlimited replayability.

Developers are open and interactive on the game's forums, and a myriad of devs have supported and maintained the game for a decade and a half. Support for online server creation, evolving AI implimentation, LAN capability, and an ever expanding list of new gamemodes made by modders complimented by an intricate, operable, and aesthetic GUI can not be appreciated enough. This is especially the case nowadays when other game's developers end up dropping support for their games mid-way through paid early access, leaving however so many bugs unfixed.

From the perspective of someone who can get lost in playing singleplayer against bots for hours on end exploring unit types and maps, this game has absolutely everything to offer for its genre and then some.

7/10 Absolutely perfect.

Happy to see people still playing this game; it was great back then, and it still is. TF1 has aged well.
