This review is for my Coop experience with my girlfriend.
Compared to what some other negative reviews have said, our experience was very smooth (note: we sit next to eachother on a wired connection).

Only at 2 points did we run into some small problems.
1: In the lightening level we had to make sure not to buy upgrades or upgrade perks. The menu seemed to be the cause for audio scratching and would destabelize our connection. nothing like that before or after that level.
2: at the very last level, we had a single fight where her extra abilities couldnt be activated for some reason. it took a quick exit and connect again to fix it.

The game itself is a fun melee/shooting game. The story itself is somewhat simple with some small twists and turns. we had a lot of fun in the game, but a huge downside is that it feels short.
We tried to find everything that could be found and took our time with everything, which resulted in about 12 hours to complete the game.

The game is played in chapters/levels. You go from one end to the other to complete your objective (often with a boss at the end) and is then "teleported" (loaded) to the next place or back to a peaceful story setting. rinse and repeat and you got the game. It isn't a negative thing but the transition sometimes feels a bit abrupt and i would rather see that the transitions/traveling be used to flesh out the character arcs or similar in my opinion.

the small puzzles you encounter in the game could have been harder. i wouldn't have minded some harder puzzles that would require me to think a bit about the solution, perhaps to get some special items or perks. but in that regard it fits well with the rest of the game. its a "simple" combat game, so the few puzzles are mostly just there to break the gameplay up a bit.

the game builds upon itself from the beginning. You fight common enemies and encounter a new stronger enemy as a boss. The boss will be encountered again in the future as a weaker (but still stronger than other) common enemy. it feels great to learn how to master an enemy and then being challenged later with different combos of enemies.

it bugged me a bit i didn't get to be able to buy all upgrade and perks without having to play the new game+. there is no way to farm experience as the enemies are locked in encounters and sometimes a bit loosely depending on the level.

overall we had fun but wanted more and can only hope for a sequel.
