I wish I could recommend this game because the client has some nice effects and quality of life features. However, over the past 6 months I've noticed a severe reduction in the pull rates for ultra rares (I keep track of all my pulls and when the data is collated into a chart there is a significant downward trend in URs/10 pack).

That combined with Konami raising the quantity of URs needed to build new archtypes has killed the game for me. This used to be a very f2p friendly game but now I can only recommend it to people willing to spend quite a bit to get the latest archtypes. And you WILL need those latest archtypes because of power creep and Konami limiting/banning cards in decks that are strong against the new archtypes they release.

Five years ago I discovered a gem on the app store named Dream Quest. It was an adventure deckbuilder that had a lot of innovative ideas but also severely lacked polish.

Several years later I saw Slay the Spire and had to give it a go. It was everything that was good about Dream Quest but so much better. The balance between the cards led to much more interesting choices in a run. They made a more streamlined map that emphasizes the card play. While StS has a fraction of the classes that Dream Quest had they are far more developed and interesting.

Slay the Spire will always have a place in my library and those of anyone who enjoys deck builders like Dominion and Thunderstone.

After exiting the game my desktop resolution is changed to 720p (from 1440p) and my refresh rate is changed to 24hz (from 165hz). Happens every single time I exit this game.

The gameplay is not bad (certainly better than 4 IMO), but is a bit on the boring side compared to faster paced titles like Guilty Gear Xrd.

The graphics are just a slight upgrade from SF4 and really shouldn't require the kind of resources it uses (poor optimization).
