Incredible atmosphere, interesting story, and satisfying gameplay, what more is there to say?

To this day fans are creating content for and related to Half Life. That's a pretty good testament to how big of a deal it is/was.

I think the aspects that haven't aged well are overweighed by the fact that this is still a fundamentally good game, playable even on my terrible laptop (or at thousands of FPS in 4K on my desktop).

I didn't think the format of the game ("play these games and get to know the developer") would work, but it did. Definitely an interesting experience, and one I would highly recommend

  • The puzzle mechanic is well thought out and intuitive
  • The graphics and sound are simple but nice
  • The game runs well on even low end laptops, input is smooth and feels natural.
  • The difficulty scaling is excellent. The developer managed to increase the challenge of the game without making it feel unbeatable or frustrating. I always knew that I would be able to find a solution, but it wasn't always easy.

A charming platformer that manages to pull off a "twist mechanic" without feeling gimmicky, largely since it's used in so many ways. The story is cute, the art is decent, and the puzzles are fun. It doesn't take long to beat, but doesn't leave you unsatisfied. Would recommend!

A good idea with decent execution.
-The controls are unreliable as there is sometimes a slight delay or they don't register
-The "hitboxes" are bigger than they should be
-Very short, took me 1.1 hours (the extra is from card idling)
-No quick way to restart a level (necessary for gold)
Most of the time I spent was repeating levels because I would die from an enemy I didn't hit or couldn't jump when I needed to.. While I think it was fun playing I can't recommend it considering the price compared to other games.

Incredibly rewarding for a millisecond or two when you manage something tough, then it goes back to immense frustration.
0/10 would have stopped a long time ago if I could.

To be serious: cool graphics, responsive controls, and challenging gameplay make for a satisfying game. Then there's the fact that it has super low system requirements, installs quickly, and is free, so there's no reason not to try it out.

Race the Sun is a Sunday night simulator in which the main character attempts to keep the sun from setting so Monday will neve come.

Pros:
The entire backstory is cleverly hidden in the name. Race the Sun -> Sun -> Sun day -> Sunday
Runs beautifully on my horrible laptop

Cons:
Playing Race the Sun all night doesn't actually stop Sunday from ending. Hopefully in a future patch devs will fix this.
Grinding to level up can get a bit frustrating/difficult at times
