Alright, buckle up for a crash course in disappointment with;

Fast & Furious: Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R

"Spy Racers" attempts to translate the animated series(yes there's a TV show with an exact game) into a racing game, and it fails spectacularly. It's a shallow, uninspired experience that feels rushed and devoid of any genuine excitement. Imagine a mobile game trying to imitate a console racer, and you're halfway not there.

Story:

Let's say this game is made for kids, which is understandable given the funny-looking characters and their sponsors to make this game happen right? So may I ask why you couldn't get VA for heroes around the most cutscene? Did you really expect all kids to read it? Even I got bored after the 2nd mission I started skipping...So no, I believe the only story we can get is by watching the show which I won't do as I don't like the F&F series.

Game Mechanics:

Was there any tho? 🤔

•Basic Racing: You drive, you boost, you "spy gadget" (which is mostly just weak colour bombs).

•Repetitive Tracks: Bland, uninspired track design that feels like it was thrown together in minutes.

•Simple Gadgets: Gadgets are uninteresting and add little to the gameplay. For the whole gameplay, I've only used the "K" which is nitro.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

+If you have very young children(which I don't have any atm) who are huge fans of the show, they might get a "few minutes" of enjoyment out of it.

+It technically runs.

Cons:

-Awful Controls: Clunky, unresponsive controls that make driving a chore.

-Terrible Graphics: Low-quality visuals that look like they belong on a last-gen handheld.

-Repetitive Gameplay: The same bland races and tracks over and over again.

-Zero Sense of Speed: Feels like you're driving at a snail's pace.

-Lack of Content: Very little to do, and what's there is incredibly shallow.

-Everything.

-Seriously, everything.
-The controls.
-The graphics.
-The gameplay.
-The lack of speed.
-The story.
-The general feeling of wasted potential.

Conslusion

This game, brazenly priced at $44, delivers an experience worth barely forty cents. It's a staggering gulf between expectation and reality. Got it from Humble Choice on Jan 14, 2024.

1/10

Until next time.
Take care everyone.
