I liked the original Flash game years ago but the sequel adds a ton of grinding (including real-life timers for getting resources) and a story that is very dull but requires clicking through pages and pages of dialogue after every mission to progress.

Early Access Review
I'm not normally really into shoot-em-ups but the gentle difficulty curve, bite-sized pieces of content, and variety of unlocks to pursue all do way more to motivate me to play than the genre's usual reliance of score attacks and punishing difficulty. The story doubly subverts the recent indie gaming trend of making game narratives that replace violent conflict with nonviolent ones, you're still a small ship shooting monsters but instead of bullets you're literally shooting pieces of love at them to overcome their fear and self-loathing and it goes all-in on this in a way that its contemporaries come up short. Definite recommend for anyone who wishes they were more into shmups or is interested in outside art from one-person teams.

Hopefully the upcoming updates will add more achievements and modes but even if not the Creeper World series makes the jump to 3d flawlessly.

My biggest complaint with this game is that it doesn't really nail the "just one more day/month/year" itch of Stardew Valley and classic Harvest Moon; because of balance issues and quirks I ended up completing the story and seeing all the secret areas that required fully upgraded tools by the end of summer in my first year which really killed my drive to keep playing since I only had to look forward to buying bigger buildings and grinding out all the recipes. Also that the controls are a little finicky, you can use the mouse to navigate menus but when you're actually playing the character only interacts with the square directly in front of where they're facing rather than when you click which means constantly repositioning while farming and a hard time judging your hits in combat. But I still played for a good long time up until that point, especially since time freezes when you're indoors including activities like the mines, and the story struck just the right balance of hitting a mood and giving you just enough to keep going without having to sit through walls of text.

My enjoyment was improved a lot by using guides. There's some hidden items you can get early on that will be a lot of help when you have low stamina and no armor and not a lot of gifts to give, so if you're frustrated or just having FOMO don't hesitate to use them.

Really sloppily-made and generic version of a type of game that already has countless polished deep free versions online. From the wonky enemy hitboxes to the mandatory grinding and replaying of levels to the multiple misspellings in every page of the tutorial every moment of this drives home how little it's worth playing much less paying money for.

There is the skeleton of a good game in here, but what remains is clunky and doesn't come together. Feels like if they had tweaked the procedurally generated maps and guns just right it might have turned out OK, as is can't recommend.

A very charming and silly roguelite that will devour several afternoons.

A surprisingly great little twinstick roguelite. It benefits a lot from not trying to be a Forever Game like Binding of Isaac and its contemporaries and instead has a much more digestible size and price to match. The closest comparison I can draw is Enter the Gungeon, but while that game quickly grew frustrating with its reliance on RNG and flawless play this is much more approachable.
