There were two things i did so im not sure which one did the trick. First i installed the ubisoft launcher and then restarted my computer. Then i tried starting the game from steam again and this time it did not ask for the activation code. If that doesn't work try starting the game from the ubisoft launcher first. Even now though there is no option to get a activation code. You have to rely on the system to automatically pick it up. Isn't DRM great?
