I can't recommend this game in good conscience. You already know this game is difficult from other reviews. What you might not know is that the difficulty comes from environmental/hidden factors such as asinine fog mechanics, slow interactions on every single item, indecipherable matchmaking system, unusable guns (insane recoil on full auto), and a very punishing gameplay loop.

It may be a little dated now, but theres still fun in slicing a guys head off with a friend in co-op.

Early Access Review
*First impressions

This game is years away from being even close to done. BS on "beta" status.

People throughout the reviews talk about the game being "unoptimized". What this really means, is this:

1. The ground will literally disapper and reappear at random.
2. Walking and seeing though invisible textures.
3. Incredible (4-5s) lag time between activation of events and registration.
4. No basic tutorial, nothing at all like you see in the original trailers.

Its like Minecraft but with decent textures, N64 type modeling/graphics and has server hosting on the Moon.

Would not recommend.

*After hours of optimizing and looking on forums for glitch fixes, a new review is needed

I have played the game a bit more thoroughly and can now fully review its status. The game is in "beta". And while more fun than first expected, I can still say its no where close to being a full game nor receiving my recommendation.

It is a great concept: exploration on a barren planet collecting resources, building bases etc. More balanced and fun than minecraft imo. But there are a few things that completely break the immersive gameplay.

1. Poorly optimized, that even the best graphics cards will not be able to handle the basic graphics provided. With a decent card (~$200 range) you still need to pull the graphics down to half-life 1 graphics, just to play the game at 25fps+. Textures are pretty tho.

2. Loading times. When hosting a game or even playing singleplayer, it will takes DOZENS of seconds for items to fully load into the map.

3. Random bugs/glitches that comepletely break the game. Spent 5 hours building your base, but didn't press the right button when you logged out? Too bad its gone. Put all your items in your tier 5 box? Oh now its disappered. too bad. Placed a block in the wrong spot, too bad no way to get rid of it.

It also seems like from the forums the developers are ready to be done with the game. Don't expect too many updates.

Still don't recommend.
