The game is unfinished. Nonsense expectations and deadlines are consistently fed to the community and then never delivered on time, or sometimes never at all. It's laughable to claim this isn't an early access title.

The endgame of Vermintide 2 involved playing through the game on the hardest difficulty with all side objectives to unlock the best gear. The current "endgame" of Darktide involves refreshing a RNG shop every hour and hoping you get something decent, no gameplay required.

It's a shame because the gameplay of -tide games is incredible, but everything surrounding it is handled so poorly, a running theme with Fatshark titles. The game will probably be good in 2 years time. Wait until then.

MW19 was great because the movement was so fast and fluid. In this game they've made it as hard as possible to run and gun by nerfing slides and making aim stability terrible when doing anything but standing completely still. It takes so long to fire when coming out of sprint too

TL;DR It punishes sprinting around and is a campers dream

The new levelling system is horrific. Totally kills my enjoyment of the game.

Explored a zone and got a bunch of cool items? Well don't celebrate because they'll all become unusable once you venture too far away and then you'll have to start all over again. Don't worry though, for your troubles of beating an entire area you'll receive a permanent reward like "a few more inches of lantern radius". Wasn't that worth it?

The game was in a better state 6 years ago than it is now. That's pretty impressive

Amazing fun for a free to play game

Apparantly it gets pay2win as you get to the higher levels but if you don't like that then just make a new character and stay in the lower leagues!

Was a great game but it's dead so don't bother
