Greatest value you will ever get when it's on sale. Cheaper & superior to its mobile version.

Early Access Review
TL;DR - Extremely high replay value for the money. The price to enjoyment ratio so crazy it should be criminal.

For the price I got it for (about $3) it's completely paid itself off. Great game that's gotten me into actually achievement hunting games as the achievements are fairly obtainable with grinding yet satisfying to earn with more difficult ones.

You start off by selecting a character and map (stage) with the premise of surviving waves of enemies that increase in difficulty to ultimately reach the goal of completing a "run". Your character starts off with a unique weapon to combat the waves of enemies and the enemies drop experience for you to level up which upon doing so, allows you to select from a variety of different items to help fight the increasingly stronger enemies. Runs themselves are cut off at 30 minutes and makes this a great game to play when needing to kill a little bit of time. The more runs you complete the more items and characters you will unlock alongside stat upgrades that can be both upgraded as well as reset. There's some cool secret content to unlock as well once you really go down the rabbit hole.

Once you unlock all the content, I think depending on the person runs can become stale/feel repetitive; especially if you don't care about trying all the different item combos and aren't going for records such as highest enemies killed or most gold earned in a single run. Conversely, the rng of what items you get each run coupled with a near infinite amount of final item combinations is also what helps provide great replay value. The game's system for character powerups works in tandem with the item variety allowing players who become more experienced to tailor the game difficulty specifically to a level they can continue to enjoy runs and try out different item combos even when not setting out for record breaking runs.

Even then if you find yourself running out of item combinations to try and handicaps to set, by going to the game properties and subscribing to the beta version, you unlock even more content. Granted the content on the beta isn't final, the core characteristics of new characters/weapons remain the same when pushed to the live build. Not to mention the frequency of beta updates is consistent; with a new beta update being released give or take every week and containing new content beyond balance changes to existing things.

Overall, I'd say the price to replay-ability has been great and at the very worst it's a pretty solid "time waster game". If you have the extra few bucks lying around in your steam wallet you should definitely consider picking this game up before using it on that csgo case you found playing Dust II deathmatch.

CS:GO Review
I love this game.

EDIT: I firmly believe this game has given me Stockholm syndrome
