Introduction
Diesel Brothers: Truck Building Simulator was developed and published by Code Horizon and PlayWay S.A. the developer that created Gold Rush.

  • Gameplay:
As mentioned above, Diesel Brothers is a Mechanic Simulator that let's you complete offers earning money and with that money work on your own Truck for either Online races or to sell it in order to upgrade your Workshop/ Garage.

    Mechanic Stuff:
The best comparison would be Car mechanic Simulator as some of the mechanics are identical. Yet they are not the same games to the fullest.
You can basically unscrew almost everything, take out the engine? sure, change up the trims? sure, add perhaps a turbo charger? check, remove rust and paint coat it again with a totally different colour? ofcourse. The game really adds more depth as far as customization goes and detail. You can swap totally different parts now, for example use a 8 bolt wheel support instead of a 4 bolt one, or use a Left Door with a Plastic trim instead of the full aluminium part and honestly I was a big fan of that addition. What I did not like or wasn't really a fan of was the fact that you cannot really scan a Truck and perhaps look for the damages it has sustained or when you look to buy a truck and find a cheap one it is basically displayed as totally new in the pictures instead of real time pictures. Other than that I was a huge fan of the mechanical stuff. One more thing I almost forgot was the fact that you now need to pick up a tool in order to unscrew or screw various parts which adds realism but make it kind of a chore to constantly look for the tool in order to do your work.

    Financial and Workshop stuff:
Another major addition is the fact that you can customize and improve your workshop. You start with basically nothing and work youself up by adding lifts and new parking spots for each offer / Project you receive. Another nice addition is that you can decorate the garage by adding random props like barrells, wall arts or other things, you can't add a lot still but I hope they improve the variety. Another amazing addition is the fact that you now have a usable Storage where you can store all the used or spare parts you've collected. Now the rest of the things are identical to Car Mechanic Simulator where you can paint things ( In real time though ), buy used parts from the scrapyard and buy trucks from the auction house but sadly you dont get the barn finds.

    Driving Mechanics:
Well it is honestly a very simple driving game, nothing much to add here, you basically get no advanced physics neither do the cars behave like trucks, for example I was using a lifted Sterling Long Bed and I expected the truck to be pretty bouncy and feel a lot like a Boat but it was totally stiff like a Formula 1 Racecar, still this is not a bad criticism as the game does not try to achieve realistic driving, just wanted to clear that out.

  • Story:
There is not much of a story, you choose between 4 brother with probably the greatest Dieselfan nicknames of All-Time ( Diesel Dave, Heavy D, Muscle and Red Beard ) and you start off you adventure to become the greatest Truck mechanic ever. Keep in mind that every brother adds different perks to the table so make a wise decision.

  • Graphics/ Audio:

    Graphics:
The Game is pretty basic looking for todays graphics, nothing bad looking but will not impress you either. Textures are a little muddy and unclear at times until you get close up to them, lighting is pretty normal as well, what I actually like the the look of freshly painted parts especially the metallic paint looks just like in real life. Overall it is a basic looking game but it surely does it job, personally I had no complains at all as far as the visual part goes.

    Audio/Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is probably the best matching playlist I have ever experienced to a game theme. You turn on the radio in your workshop and you hear countrymusic or Rock which I found nice, sadly I think that the playlist isnt that big so after hearing all the songs multiple times I decided to turn the radio off. There is no voice acting as far as I can remember but it would be legendary if they would hire some fitting voiceactors to add to the immersion! I would be a huge fan of that.

  • Performance :

    On Low End Devices:
    Intel Core i5 5200U, 6GB RAM, Intel HD 5500:
Haven't tested that one out yet but the review will be updated when done.
    On High End Devices:
    Intel Core i7 4790k, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1070:
I was running the Game on Maxed out settings with +80fps on 1080p resolution.

    Bugs/ Glitches/ Crashes:
I experienced to Bugs, Glitches or crashes in around 7 Hours of fixing Diesel Trucks.
Some FPS drop should be noted though.

  • Price :
For 15 Eur. you honestly get a great game. Nothing more to say!

  • Conclusion :
Diesel Brothers: Truck Building Simulator is in my opinion the best Mechanic Simulator you can get out there, sadly it only offers trucks but that wasn't a big problem for me, combined with some new elements and mechanics, I can only recommend it.

    Overall Rating: 81 /100

Good review

8gb of RAM min req.
16gb is twice as much so there shouldn't be any of these problems ddr3 isn't ancient technology.

No not really. DDR4 has much more performance than DDR3. (Mostly noticeable on web browsing, multitasking and applications intensive on ram) Not considering the MHZ of the ram. And considering this game's minimum requirements is 8gb of ram, this just shows it's a ram demanding game.

I have 16 gigs of ddr4 2400mhz and the game runs just fine for me

I mean that could be a factor but 16 RAM is honestly more than enough speed of rams shouldnt play a major role. Overall DDR4 only adds 1%-5% more performance compared to DDR3. I could be wrong though.

I notice that you wrote that you get frame drops, but you left out the fact that it is DDR3 ram and it's only 1600mhz. I have the same motherboard as you and the max it supports is 1600mhz, and ram is usually the issue of frame drops in any game intensive on low-end ram.
