Imagine getting suspended and/or banned because you came from BDO or honestly literally any other MMO and decided to farm mobs. That's the stance Anet GMs take against "AFK farming", but clearly not bots in PvP where you will likely get banned due to griefing via mass reporting after it being "investigated thoroughly". Almost anything in this game is actionable by bots and it is common knowledge that they have logs of player inputs. My friend used a continuum split macro because he had nerve damage from a botched hand surgery and got banned for it not even a few days after and Anet even had the specifics of the macro itself mentioned in the ticket. Even though it only lasts for not even 3 seconds and is used only every 2 minutes if it is even being used proactively, they still caught it. Said rules are rules and it was final and my friend quit for good. Yet despite having access to information of this nature and degree, GMs will whimsically remove you from the game if they don't like the way you are playing it and claim that you were botting/macroing/autocasting/etc if they see you farming mobs. Furthermore it is pointless to appeal since GMs will try and cover up their BS while engaging in fueled nepotism within their own communities and will "handle" these cases with the utmost bias while vilifying these players under different discord aliases or get others to do it on their behalf. Don't get me wrong, the actual devs are GoATs. You voice an opinion, they manifest a change and the game's content is more than amazing though metas get old quick. But those that moderate the community are extremely scummy.

The only modern MMORPG where you actually have to prepare for fights. Every other mmo is just figuring out the best holy trinity comp to make the bigger number once you know all the mechanics. But in Gw2, you can actually use your abilities to interact with the fight itself and do mechanics instead of just hit the glorified dummy while you "stand and let thing resolve" *cough* FF. There's stealth, enemy displacement, teleportation, damage negation, etc. The game gives you a whole bunch of tools beyond the typical glorified damage buff. And best of all, there is no trinity and there are a lot of fights with unique roles. You ever wanted to be a support in an mmo that does more than just heal? You want actual utility in an mmorpg? This is your game. The gold standard.

As chrono I run portal and mimic in raids and on some fights, I give my entire raid up to a whole extra 2 minutes of dps uptime just from them not having to walk across an entire arena or dodge a mechanic. You know those mechanics where the game wants you to run away from the boss? Push F to use the portal and direspect the boss. Oh, you can backflip? Rescue? WATCH ME MOVE THE ENTIRE SQUAD forward and back and then forward and back and then go forward and back... while turning off enemy aggression, setting the world on fire, and teaching adds what it feels like to be Mary Poppins. The game lets you do all kinds of big brain moves like this beyond the hitting the fancy "Shiroe button" every 120 seconds while pushing your glasses emote macro for a WHOPPING TEN PERCENT ADDITIONAL CRIT RATE FOR FIFTEEN SECONDS while you stand and let thing resolve. Yeah, you can get double that bonus permanently in gw2.... and the game also has aviators.... and you can get a mount that is basically a fighter jet... who wants to roleplay Log Horizon when you can play Top Gun IN Log Horizon? Nah, ♥♥♥♥ that. Imma throw snowballs at the boss. <-- ACTUALLY VIABLE BTW. GoATed MMO 11/10 with zero fomo and 100% organic player retention through just being a good game and not making you commit to a timegated gear treadmill that resets every 12 weeks with zero character progression beyond "item level", "power level", or "gear score".

Imagine releasing a game so good, people actually feel attacked by it lmao

A 10/10 story to go with an otherwise 8/10 game that's held back by so many poor design choices that make you wanna play literally anything else (I'd rather go dodge 200 lightning bolts). I swear to God, platforming and QTEs in this game are the most frustrating things ever. It shouldn't take 2-3 random encounters to get Cloud to climb a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ladder. And even if they removed the awful gun drills, snowboarding, "DODGE THAT PUNCH!", and other terrible forced mini-game sequences from the game, people will still defend this game with the "it was good for its time" excuse when there are other games like VI that did a lot of things better and call it a masterpiece. Hell, XIII has the same battle system but better (even with autobattle spam), even better than VIIR. But all you hear about is complaints about the linearity which for XIII is only the first 16 hours of the game, but for X, is basically the entire game. But which one do you hear about being a "masterpiece"? FF fans have their standards all over the place and clearly don't know what the hell they want and that's exactly why the devs gave you Devil May Fantasize XVI

All VII did differently from VI was 3D. False marketing drew a lot of people in to what would be the first FF for them and that's what a lot of people ended up sticking with. So when we say "for its time", that really only applies to the graphics and 3D was a really big novelty back then

Port is fine. I went through this on the Steamdeck so I had the boon of not having to dredge through another hour just to save in case windows decided to update and shut my PC off and I'd say the community layout is mandatory so don't use the default controls. You can't really go wrong for 5 bucks, but honestly just watch a playthrough then go play the "Requel" as I like to put it and take anything you hear from the fanbase with a grain of salt before forcing yourself into a 60 hour playthrough of a game wondering what the hell it is people see in this game

Executives need to quit simping for this procedurally generated "THOUSAND HOUR GAME" nonsense.

Also, fix the damn quest tracker ffs

QoL: Install SekiroFPSunlock from nexusmods -> set FoV and apply borderless windowed + autoloot (read the desription guide if you want to do anything else)
