Boltgun oozes charm and dedication to 40k. I'm surprised, honestly, that the idea of a classic Doom-style 40k game hasn't been thought up before, but it's been executed extremely well here. The weapons feel punchy and moving around as a Space Marine is extremely fun. The environments and OST are also great.

I think that the developers could've been more honest about performance. On my laptop (which exceeds the performance requirements) the performance is abysmal, though my desktop handles the game fine. Otherwise I think there could be more damage feedback, though if you pay attention to your health you should be fine.

Brigador is a fun, simple rampage-simulator, where you must assist a mysterious corporation in regime change by destroying everything in a building-sized walking death machine.

Brigador's charm comes from it's vehicle customisation - you're given a selection of over 50+ vehicles and 40 weapons spread across 5 hardpoint types. Brigador's "risk = reward" gameplay means that making life harder for yourself will net you more profits, so picking a dinky little tuk-tuk and the most difficult pilot will get you hundreds of millions in cash, while a massive mountain-on-treads will only get you a tenth of that. In addition, destructible terrain allows for dynamic battles where the battlefield can be shaped to your liking, should you be equipped to do so. Brigador's presentation is stunning, pairing detailed spritework with a banging synth soundtrack. You even get paid to stomp on civvies - what's not to love?

However, the game's simplistic nature means that the game may get repetitive, especially after the campaign is completed - this can be remedied with mods (of which there are many, uploaded by the community to the developers' discord), however. The only issue I really had with gameplay outside of repetitiveness however is the aiming system, which can make placing precise shots difficult. The game has lore, told through weapon, vehicle and pilot descriptions. Though the game's lore is very intriguing, it isn't really integrated into a story-driven campaign, which is disappointing given the fascinating universe of Brigador.

On another note, Stellar Jockeys (the developers) are incredible. They are still dedicated to Brigador, updating their game 5 years later even after a failed launch. They've fostered a small, but active community that I am proud to call myself a part of.

I would happily call Brigador my favourite game, and would absolutely recommend it. Watch MandaloreGaming's review of it if you need more convincing.
