Many will look at this game and be ready to dismiss it because it looks like a fanservice laden h-game. Those people are fools.

For one, despite some ecchi-ish CG art, nothing's flat out NC-18 (No nudity, certainly no lewd acts), this ends up being one of the most solid Metroidvania titles in a long time. Why? It embraces the non-linearity that makes a good Metroidvania. This is a Metroidvania where you can literally go "Y'know what? I don't WANT my primary weapon. I'm gonna run the game without it." And you can challenge the game with just Ribbon (Your 'gun' of sorts). Sequence breaking isn't actively blocked, in fact it's outright encouraged. Some achievements even *REQUIRE* you to sequence break, playing the game out of the "intended" order of progression. This right here is what makes me love this game so much. A lot of Metroidvanias will try to prevent you from breaking sequences or doing things out of order. You might be able to get one or two items out of order now and then, but nothing hugely game breaking. This on the other hand, is a game that *wants* you to break it. And for the skilled player, it will reward you for doing so.

Oh right, some people may not know what a Metroidvania is. I should clarify that. It's a game where you basically explore a large, interconnected world. More of it becomes available to explore as you find upgrades to traverse more of it. There's a lot of platforming, as well as fighting. And both are fun as heck here.

On top of this you have a fun bullet-hell esque form of boss fighting that keeps things quite intense, but due to the upgrade nature of the game, you can always snag more health and attack power to get the advantage in a tougher boss fight whose patterns you haven't quite nailed yet.

This is a Metroidvania that gets so much right where other games in the genre get it wrong. Virtually the entire world map is accessible to you from the getgo if you know how to bypass certain obstacles with Erina's hidden techs. If you were the type of person who loved being able to go out of order in Super Metroid via walljumps and Machballs, you are going to love the way this game encourages more of the same.

What? I'm confused and disappointed. The tags list it as 'nudity' but you say there isn't any. Is there a decensor patch, or are the tags wrong somehow? or perhaps you just didn't discover/unlock the nude elements?

Couldn't have said it better myself; overall, Rabi-Ribi is by far one of the best designed and most versatile games I've ever had the pleasure of playing. May it see continued attention and support, I really hope to see more games like this in the future, or at least for coming titles to learn from Rabi-Ribi's many triumphs.
