The base game is great. It's fun. It is actually my very first Total War game and I enjoyed it a lot, but I really think that many of the released DLCs should've been in the base game. The realistic battles are great, they make you feel like some godlike commander and I dunno if its just me or is it also historically accurate. Anyhow, maybe not for $60 (I got it for $15), I really recommend it.
