Some people may argue that the content, only taking about an hour to get through, puts Erma's five dollar price tag into consideration. While it's true that the actual game is quite short and simple, I think the asking price is more than worth it if it means I can support a team of passionate independent creators, making a lovely little throwback to classic point-and-click adventures of days gone.

That's not to say that this game is perfect. It absolutely has a small handful of technical issues. However, they're few and far enough between that I'm able to enjoy the game for what it succeeds at.

OneShot is definitely not the best-made or highest-quality game I've ever played, at least from a gameplay perspective. However, it may just be the most intelligently-designed brain twister of a game ever made. That alone earns this a spot in my all time favorites.

I went out of my way to get the best ending, and now I've grown too attached to everyone and don't have the heart to get the other endings and reach 100%.

This always happens to me.

If we could regularly get these goofy side games to keep us entertained between the mainline Sonic games, I think the whole fanbase would be really happy.

It's taken quite some time for me to express how much this game means to me.

I'm nearly finished with my second playthrough, and it feels like I'm playing the game for the first time all over again. The environment and music never fail to make me feel calm. The puzzles are a great blend of being largely unclear with JUST enough of a hint that I rarely get stumped yet always feel like a genius every time I solve them. The story has kept me glued to my screen just as much as the first time I read it. Ori's diverse move set means that it NEVER gets boring to fend off enemies or find new ways to traverse the stages. I always feel good every time I complete a side quest that helps improve the lives of the people I meet.

This game has earned its spot as my favourite of all time, and it's gonna take a LOT for it to be dethroned anytime soon.

I know that the common issue that people have with this game is its steep price for the content on the show. Is there more that could (and honestly kind of should) be added in the future to make the fifty bucks easier to swallow? Are the additional season passes also way too pricey for their own good? Absolutely, and I hope that the developers and publishers take note of these issues with free updates.

However, I honestly had way too much fun playing the game and mastering all of the techniques to feel that burn. This is easily one of the most satisfying racing games I've played. All of the vehicles play noticeably differently from each other, but none of them is objectively bad (Minus the bigger cars which can sometimes spiral out of control for no reason), so it's all down to preference on which cars are your favourite. The physics is the perfect balance of tight responsiveness and slippery chaos, leading to great turns and unbelievable shortcuts once you know how to take advantage of the air controls. The environments are absolutely gorgeous and do a wonderful job at making you feel like a tiny machine in an ultimate playground.

If you don't want to spend full price on this game, that's perfectly understandable. However, I recommend you pick up this game at some point on a sale if you want. It is unfortunate that the content is lacking, but I was happy enough to play the game and have a blast doing so.

UPDATE 11/27/2022: Over a year later, I can say that I still hold this opinion. Even though the DLC is still overpriced, I'm grateful to the developer and publisher for allowing all players to access the newly-added stages online, even if they haven't purchased them for their own copies.

It's really hard for me to write down an in-depth text review of Dust: An Elysian Tail without turning into a rambling mess of spoiling the game and/or fanboyism, so I will try to make this as simple and up-front as I can.

Buy this game, and don't just buy it. I cannot stress how important it is to go into this game from start to finish as blind as possible. Almost everything about this game struck me with emotions I never knew existed. Nearly everything about this, from the bright, colorful, beautiful graphics; it's quirky and varied character cast and their voices; and the wonderfully Celtic and orchestral soundtrack - with so many more features I won't mention for spoilers' sake, makes me proudly say I can recommend this game to most anyone looking for a decent challenge and/or riveting overall experience.

For such a tiny game on the surface, this is some of the most fun I've had from any of my Steam purchases yet.
Being the huge lover for old and new music alike, the idea of playing a Guitar Hero-esque rythm game with literally any song I desire is a perfect match made in heaven for any music fan out there.
The specs are small enough so that nobody should have much trouble playing this game, and the $10 price is a perfect tag for what this game offers (or less if any sales come around). The many playable vehicles also adds a ton of replayability to an already addicting experience.

Absolute recommendation to anyone out there who loves music as much as I do.
