It would be swell if I could play this...

This version wasn't ported with a controller in mind. Attempted several configurations and I still cannot back out of menus (using Steam Link + Steam controller).

I can deal with this version of the game looking like mobile-game crap, but I didn't buy this so I could stare at my computer screen. I bought it so I could be a blob on my couch. Just too bad it's unplayable with a controller...

One of the best medieval strategy games out there.

Ahhhhh, the DLC that not only fixed Conclave woes, but also actually added new content while improving on existing features. Paradox did well to listen to the jeers of its playerbase by adding in a pre-game options menu (similar to EU4's) that allowed for switching off of the dreaded shattered retreat mechanic (among others).

Nothing to see here, folks! Just your typical open-world AAA garbage replete with non-gameplay and busy work.

Also, this game has the wonkiest control scheme (I test both the official Steam controller and PS3 controller with SCP support). I always play with full inverted axes, and while this game does have an option to "invert aim axis" IT DOES ABOLUTELY NOTHING, and there are no other options to change the (controller) control scheme. This in it of itself makes the game virtually unplayable for me.

In addition, the camera is pretty dodgy as well. The camera is so close and so low, I fell like I could hold a decent conversation with proctologists. The fact that this game is third person with a camera that is way too close and cannot be adjusted or modified in any way, again makes this viturally unplayable for me.

I purchased this game and its accompanying DLC from the summer sale (2016) in hopes that I might be able to enjoy from my couch via Steam Link. I was clearly duped.

***EDIT***
So, I found fixes for both issues:

To invert the axes or change button mapping:

To increase field of view (FoV):

(just download the program, run it, update it, select Middle Earth: SOM from the list, and then increase the FOV!

While this game isn't bad, ***it is a complete rip-off of Magic The Gathering***
This game is such an obvious copy of MTG that I feel like it should say "Made in China" somewhere and be riddled with Engrish typos.
If you were looking for an alternative to playing Magic (or even Hearthstone for that matter...), LOOK ELSEWHERE. Hex = MTG facsimile.

*EDIT*
I've dumped a few hours into the PvE aspect of the game since the initial review, and I found it flimsy & gimmicky. Throughout playing it, I felt like I was playing through a very thorough tutorial and not a dedicated campaign.

Where is the video game? Mass Effect is a slightly interactive storybook.

Despite some of the early negative feedback this story has garnered, I do have to say that I completely disagree. This story has me fixed similar to the slow drip the actual episodic television show does. Be wise to to understand that this is a story, an interactive story, rather than a "game" as most people might misconstrue. While there was plenty of hubbub about the first episode not producing results, or at least noticable results, after the first few episodes (as expected), the actions of a player begin to show.

I recommend this story for anyone that cannot sate their Game of Thrones fix, and yet somehow wish they could sway the actions of characters, despite any recourse in your decisions. If you haven't purchased this yet or have and not yet played through it, please think of the anaology that this particular series is more akin to an interactive Choose Your Own Adventure story than an actual video "game."

Some GREAT, classic FPS games in this bundle. I highly recommend it, especially if you remember playing Rise of the Triad or Blake Stone as demos on the old freeware CD-Rom disks way back when. Definitely brings me back to my Win95 days.

The game is fantastic despite a few minor complaints such as the reuse of character models, the protagonist's voice and character models during conversation being stiff and inorganic, and a mediocre enemy AI.

It's still a classic.
