Oh boy, this is going to be a fun review.

While I am not really able to give a complete review at this time given how far I am into the game, I will give a review up to this point.

In short, 14 Minesweeper Variants is a Minesweeper game with a LOT of different variants of the classic game Minesweeper, however, there is a twist. I've found this game to be one of the harder Minesweeper games available on Steam.

The default game mode for this game is Expert, which means that all puzzles are solvable without guessing, but you are also not allowed to guess. If you try to guess, the board automatically rearranges itself so that you automatically fail the level. Basically, what this means is that you have to solve the level entirely by logic and nothing else. If you are able to solve the level without having to use the in-game hint mechanic, you "perfect" the level.

There are various sizes of boards for each of the variants that you can play in this game, from the base 5x5 all the way up to ??? (Not sure what the maximum is yet because I haven't reached that point in the game). As the board sizes increase, I find that the difficulty of each puzzle also increases, however, this may also be due to the fact that the levels are procedurally generated.

Options for the game include the ability to change difficulty levels, disable/enable hints, disable or enable sound effects, disable or enable full screen mode, change keybinds, and more.

There is no option for changing the aspect ratio of the game besides just the windowed/fullscreen modes, which is a bit of a downer, but not too big of a deal.

Because each level is procedurally generated, the difficulty curve of this game isn't really fluid. You might get some levels that are extremely easy and then right after, get one that is super hard. Overall, the levels that I've played so far have tended to be from medium difficulty on up.

If you enjoy playing Minesweeper and are willing to give some variants that add new twists to the game a try, or if you like puzzle games or logic puzzles in general, I would recommend this game to you.

NOTE: I will edit this review as I play more of this game to provide more thoughts.

I'd be interested in what options it has. Windowed mode with resolutions? Sound and music sliders?
