You can hit someone with a sword and then play a flute in their face. I've never played a game that let me be such a massive jerk.

It's plant-based puzzling.

I'd like this way more if it focused less on the "dodge objects moving towards you while also picking up some collectables" gameplay style and instead focused on giving you tight turns to navigate. Checkpoints feel really far apart, it's really easy to die, and the game just feels tedious rather than feeling fun :(

Just like a real short hike: a fun few hours from start to finish with reasons to go back and do it again.

Imagine the world-map concepts of FTL, but you move through the world on a bike one downhill stage at a time.

There's something terribly addictive to this game that made me binge-play it for the equivalent of two 8 hour shifts. I feel kind of gross for having just been absolutely glued to the game so much but it probably speaks worlds to how good this game actually is.

Night in the Woods is a little slice-of-life experience that gets its hooks into you and rewards you for the time and effort you decide to put into exploring the world and characters of Possum Springs. It's a game that rewards curiosity and exploration, while keeping the plot steadily trundling along towards its conclusion. Along the way you'll find answers for the questions that you have, but wind up left with some answers that you can only infer. Take your time with this game, if only just to enjoy and appreciate the look of the game as well as the soundtrack. Play it at least twice, because there's a lot going on and Gregg rules, ok?

If I told you this game reminded me of the Stanley Parable, I think that's all you need to know in order to decide whether or not you'll enjoy this.
