Every Steam summer sale has been trash since 2015 (and almost every new game by Western AAA too tbh). But if you had $10 to buy one game from this Summer Sale, Yakuza 0 (with its killer soundtrack, compelling storyline, hilarious sidequests, and memorable characters), should be it. And if you like that, go and buy the other games too. SEGA's on a roll with releasing them on PC right now.

Seriously I mean it, go buy the game. Imagine being the dweeb who bought ARK Survival Evolved or PUBG instead of 70+ hours of everything fun about Japanese Games in one package lol.

I don't give a if nobody on my steam friends list thumbs up this review. I got my 500 extra max points either way from writing this review that I can use to level up my steam level. And I once again got a chance to tell people to buy this game like I've been telling everyone I know ever since it came out on PC. lol.

Edit: Even after the Steam Summer Sale's now over. You should still buy the game for $20 if you somehow didn't grab it for $10 already. lol

If you enjoyed the original Dead Island but you're on the fence of buying this game like I was, you probably might like it, or probably not.

The FOV is pretty low, but you can download a utility mod found in the steam forums to increase the FOV (and disable shadows completely to get an FPS boost), so that's not much of a problem.

While I do enjoy the gameplay still (slashing katanas never gets old). In comparison to the original Dead Island, the game feels much more linear by comparison, the overall game world feels much more fenced in in comparison to the more open areas of Moresby and the Beach Resort in the Original. You don't have much way of exploration in this sense, and if you do the side missions, you pretty much been to everywhere there is to go. The athmosphere of everything going to hell like it should be is still here like in the original, but it just feels too linear for my tastes, and the open world exploration is what I liked in the original, but there's a lot less here.

The game also somehow manages to feel more unoptimized than it's predecessor, as I constantly experienced microstutter.

If you liked the original Dead Island to the point where you spent 100+ hours playing it you might feel different and still probably find a way to enjoy the game. Anyone else shouldn't really bother. I played the original Dead Island to the point where I got the extremely rare orange weapons (like the Eviscerator). But overall I personally don't find it worthwhile even when the game is constantly on sale for $7.49.

One of the best uses of $15 that I ever made. Great graphics and full of funny, fast-paced action. Tons of over-the-top humor. It's an awesome break from playing most modern shooters, which seem to be grounded mostly in reality.
