I'm honestly not too sure about weither i like Rust or not, since to accomplish most things in the game or a have a good wipe you need to fill these criterias. (unless of course you are a hardcore pvper like hjune) First of all you need to build somehere where you won't get doorcamped for the entirety of your wipe by some toxic kids that live nearby and put signs with ♥♥♥♥♥ and nazi symbol on them. Next, you need to have a group, if you attempt to play on your own and you arent good at pvp your wipe is gonna be hard and painful. If you play on a huge server with 150-300 people on it chances are if you don't have a group you will get wiped without being able to accomplish anything, if you play on a modded server people will call you bad and honestly Rust has the most toxic community i've ever seen sadly, otherwise if you do good you'll have the time of your life and being at the top feels really good and rewarding.

it's an amazingly dynamic game.
I've been using a friendly community server as a de-stresser

toxicity is the meta of rust though. if you approach it any other way you will be rolled. it's like playing monopoly
