I've seen plenty of negative reviews with factually incorrect information.
I saw someone say there are no guns (there are), there are no side quests (there are), ...

To potential buyers: Judge for yourself if someone's review is genuine or if the reviewer is being silly.
To those reviewers: ...play the game?? Before hating.

The game is great so far (I'm 7 hours in). It's fun. And it does a good job keeping the atmosphere and lore as top priorities, honoring Bloodlines 1's path without being the same game.
There are differences from 1. But that doesn't automatically make 2 bad. A lot of the differences would have been quality-of-life improvements if 1 was released today.

My only concern is replayability. Replaying 1 as Nosferatu or Malkavian was an entirely different game experience. I'm pretty confident this game won't have that.
But I think this game does a better job than 1 on lore. I feel more invested in the world.

I think Bloodlines 1 got me into the atmosphere mostly because 1.) walking around an interesting city at night in a '90s game, and 2.) the music slaps.

This game has some great music during battles (slaps like BL1) and walking around the city (more melancholy, less mystery). The city vibe is different.

Anyway, I'm enjoying the heck out of this game. I find myself thinking about it, wanting to play more. Haters gonna hate--I like the game.

Lunacid was a dungeon crawler for people who enjoyed King's Field.
This game, Lunacid - Tears of the Moon is a prequel to Lunacid.
And it is VERY King's Field (since it is built using FROM Software's King's Field maker) with its old visual styles and enemy behavior.

You'll need to be flexible, since the King's Field maker tool is from 2000. It is not built for modern systems. But if you can get over that, the game is wonderful. And it marks a fantastic prequel to Lunacid.

Improved puzzles, a small amount of new content, ...
I expected a remake. I got even more.
Thank you!

This is the perfect love letter to King's Field.
I felt a tad envious that FROMSOFT keeps producing more Souls games and has abandoned the dungeon crawl genre. Thankfully, I'm not the only one who loves these.
Thank you, Kira.

A fun hour-long atmospheric horror. Simple and spoopy.

It has been along time since I enjoyed a game so much I actually finished it.
I'm very thankful I gave this game a try. It has earned its way into my favorites.
