Early Access Review
A really neat, visually appealing, rogue-like world-builder.
Quite simple on the face of it, but has a reasonable amount of complexity and nuance which you discover organically when you want to push for high-scores and other achievements. You can just plonk hexes down in an appealing way, or plan ahead and be rewarded for your clairvoyant choices further in your playthrough.

4 nicely balanced classes to choose from, each have unique loadouts which can be customised greatly.
Lots of cosmetic options.
Gameplay can be a bit samey but what this game does it does very well. The developers have added new game modes since launch for free, with a few cosmetic-only DLCs packs as well.
I like the low-polycount visual style and the soundtrack is pretty good too, but can be repetitive.

Great development of complexity that will have you reassessing your previous assumptions. The revelation as the story unfolds is quite moving as well!

It's an interesting game, but you have to be observant and dilligent throughout - otherwise you'll be making guesses at the end.

I loved the challenge of the game - the only hand-holding is the confirmation upon 3 correct suggestions, which does give you an out if you're struggling slightly.

The main negative is how cumbersome the vignettes are - at times you'll want to have a quick peak into several different ones but that means moving around the boat at dawdling pace until you can load them again. Once you do revisit them, the background music obfuscates a lot of the finer detail of the introductory audio clip (which is often laden with clues).
I personally disliked how long the meandering spirit/dust took to lead to further clues, especially when going for the 'final achievement'.

Also just over 15hrs play time for £15 which involved 2 complete runs - not an issue for me as I did enjoy the game on the whole, just pointing it out for those that might want more 'bang for your buck'.

That said, I did enjoy the game - unique art style, very catchy sound-bites, interesting story.

I'd say the main joy is the satisfaction in beating this game as it does have a few pretty tricky parts. Main con is how you have this 'forced pacing' of the game by slowly travelling around the boat all the time.

I often had this in a scaled-down windowed mode on my 2nd monitor to fill up the 'in-between times' while I was playing other games e.g. waiting for matchmaking queues or waiting for afk friend(s) in group.

It's a neat little concept. The progression is paced well as it allows you to develop a set of rules in your mind (stages A-Z contain ~24 puzzles each with a common characteristic in each stage). These rules really help as you progress into the stages which start to combine them.

The best part about this game is the thumping soundtrack.
A close second comes the customisation you can do to your aircraft.
It can get a little samey but that's due to the pure arcade nature of this beast.
Really fun to break up those longer gaming sessions for a bit.

Action is fun and fast paced in this quest-based MMO, where the unpaying gamer is not significantly gimped compared to someone with bottomless pockets of diamonds (and Atari points, which can be bought with REAL MONEYZ). True enough, if you have the cash to splash you may find an 'archtype' that suits you a little better, but given that you start on F2P with a wide selection of 'archtypes' : this game's way of terming 'classes', all players are catered for. Like all MMORPGs it is best played with friends as the questing may feel like a tedious grind towards just the next level.

A laid back game. The only trouble is all those water droplets running down and the relaxing nature of the soundtrack invariably results in wet pants.
