I hate this game.

Straightforward relaxing survival crafter. Like most of its genre, food and water are a little dicey at first, and trivial by mid-game. The research/tiers are reasonably distributed, but it can feel a little gating to have to wait to get a 10x boost by the next tier's tech. It's a little finnicky to upgrade previous tiers to make new stuff, to the point where I just abandoned T1/2/3 stuff as new tiers rolled in. Just easier to build new than replace old, with a couple exceptions. This isn't bad per se but it just feels goofy to see very inefficient old solar panels sitting around while you're plopping down advanced nuclear tech.

Generally though, a very easy game to lose yourself in. The world is well crafted with enough variety and secrets to keep it from getting too stale before the gameplay loop wears itself out. The music provides nice ambiance. Sound effects range from okay (clanking footsteps, doors) to great (meteorites sound quite harrowing). And the inexorable spread of life, the fruits of your labor, making itself known after a long slow growth is quite rewarding.

It's not subnautica, there isn't the same awe-inspiring sense of wonder and fear. But it doesn't have to be, it's pleasant enough as a gathering/crafting/optimizing exploration sim.

Fantastic open world zombie world simulator. Maintains a reasonable balance between the somber, tense battles for survival with a lighter humor during character interactions and base-building.
