I'd definitely recommend joining a mil-sim community to really deep dive into Arma 3 head first.

Lots of people may also tell you the game is complex. Not really. It's control scheme can get a little overloaded, especially with mods. But it's about on par with Escape From Tarkov in terms of control bindings. Maybe a little more.

Besides that, you can modify it to play a little more like a basic FPS with very little effort in terms of keybinds.

Check out ACE3 to bring your realism to the next level with accurate to real life ballistics (Down to how temperature affects ballistics) that no game has ever quite matched and extremely indepth medical and interaction systems.

Ultimately I'd recommend it heavily to anyone remotely interested in tactical shooters, simulators or even just military as a blanket.
