Early Access Review
So my review is a little more mixed then just go buy it, give it more time to develop, its in early access. I do have some feedback if you are thinking about it all the same. I enjoyed the game for lots of reasons, in particular its truly beautiful maps and objects, the diversity of systems (especially its farming). Really strong roots for a good game here.

There are some gripes I have with its current state however, the gold systems balance is out of wack. Early-Mid game you get a healer, the healer will cost more per month then you will likely make in 5-6 months at that point in the game, and you can't necessarily just go without. In the time frame in which this is set (11th century on) there would be wandering healers and most villages of any size would likely have midwife or herbalist. I would think maybe there is a way to introduce two tiers of healers, and they can only treat certain things? Combine the foragers hut with the first tier and make it cheaper if not free for maintenance and then have a higher tier healers or 'doctor'. Maybe if a faith system is integrated that play a role.

And then there's the storage system. Theoretically you can select which locations will store which goods, but in reality it doesn't seem to matter. The cart you begin with will never seemingly empty no matter if you have all the little boxes checked or not. And built yourself a fancy vault for all that gold? To bad, its going to go hide somewhere (happened in my current play-through, literally can't see where the gold is being stored as it is in none of my storage's. Guess what happens immediately when I get raided, I lose years of gold accumulation immediately because it wouldn't move to the flipping vault where it belongs.

A couple of minor points, the ground leveling system is a bit janky but it works. All the villages kinda look the same at a certain point, its a little odd and I would like some visual diversity. A secular education system is essentially unheard of in most cities, let alone in villages in the middle ages, instead almost all education toke place at churches.

Finally, there are definitely some comfort of life things missing, such as multi-select for buildings, disabling certain types of pop-ups, access to crude blacksmithing at an earlier point would make sense (around tier II instead of tier III), prioritizing building queues (the building is either a priority or not), and giving some more transparency into what your workers are doing and how they are prioritizing their tasks.

Overall good start to an early access game. I look forward to watching it grow in sophistication and in balance, but I am going to have to hang up the virtual spurs until there are some changes made, for the sake of my sanity at the very least.
