A very good Touhou game indeed. Touhou Fantasia is a free shmup game with Reimu as a protagonist. It is a one-stage game (however, this stage is akin to extra stage of a mainline Touhou game, which means it is harder and longer). There's also a timed challenge mode to see how long you can survive one of Misty's (the kitty cat boss of the game) spell cards. There's achievements for this challenge too.

Overall it is a very solid game, with all the usual gameplay mechanics you'd expect. I want to make a note regarding the music - I liked it very much. There are 3 tracks in the game (main menu, stage and boss soundtracks) and they all heavily feature piano (best instrument, fight me).

Nothing to lose, it's a free game, mate. If you're into Touhou - there's even less than nothing to lose. Go play it.

I'm not trying to be mean for the sake of being mean, but that was outright bad. I would not pay money for it, and am unhappy with it even as it stands right now - free.

Main complaint is, as I've noticed in most of the negative reviews (and positive also, actually) - is not being able to actually see the game. You could say that the protagonist was drugged or something, but I do not remember drugs causing VHS lines going from top to bottom periodically.

I had to look up a video to be able to progress, as I couldn't understand that there was another building outside (I looked around, but it's just blur blurred on blur, so I couldn't tell what I saw), and then I had to use the same video to open a padlock, because I couldn't discertain symbols on it one from another (same issue in a video itself, actually). I had to just press the same sequence as was in the video. I used the same walkthrough again to find yet another building that was impossible to see unless bumped into.

If not for the visual problems, this might've been a "meh" (at best) game, as it is very short and as much boring. Reviews are mixed for a reason.

Touhou Mystia's Izakaya is a really good management game. It is relaxing, but at the same time there's enough going on for you to not get bored by lack of difficulty. Many 2hous to talk to and level relationships with, and at the time of writing, 1 DLC is already translated (which adds more characters) and second is in development.

It is time management as much as resource management, and if you're into those, I believe you'll get a very nice experience. For just $6 (was $4.8 on sale) that's a steal. I, myself, played it for 70 hours (got all achievements) and was really happy with it. For your information I did buy Forest of Magic & Youkai Mountain DLC, and I do recommend doing so.

Game's really cute by the way. Though I'm sure you've noticed from the trailer.
In short: overwhelmingly positive is well justified. Go buy it.

I've seen some reviewers talking about "trust issues". Okuu have answered 3/5 times incorrectly, and the other 2/5 were right just because I've made sure using magic. Those aren't "trust issues", this is a severe case of Okuu's bird brain, poor thing. Or she's just bullying me.

In short, this is an old verbal game where you guess a word by asking specific questions in order to gain information regarding the subject or object. However, there are multiple additional features thrown in. They are: interference (Satori's sister Koishi and pet Orin), which you're supposed to manage while solving the riddle and the Third Eye, a feature to ensure Okuu's answer is correct.

I've also seen some people saying that this game is not good because of Okuu's incorrect answers. I see why they say that, as your whole logic chain could go down the drain because of a single incorrect answer from her, which makes this game somewhat tied to random or one specific tactic of checking all her (or all her critical) answers via Third Eye.

If you want a precise game of words, Help Me Remember, Satori-sama! would not be entirely for you, however, if you want an unusual, fun and short Touhou game, it should bring you around 1.5-2.5 hours of entertainment. There are also two additional difficulty modes after completion of the last level, as well as a bonus stage. The extra stage is made for hardcore Touhou fans, as you need to guess a Touhou character, and the list of them for this level is huge. If you're going for the 100%, game will take you way more than 3 hours.

In conclusion, Satori has the patience of an angel (quite ironic), "battle" music is awesome and Okuu forgor 💀

Early Access Review
Alright, first of all, I'd like all of you to know that I'm THE strongest fairy in all of Gensoukyou.

Considering the amount of fun I've had in 1.5 hours of the playtime (as of time of writing, there's only one chapter in the game), I'd easily pay for this game. Looking forward to seeing more chapters in it. 1.5 hours were for pretty much 100%ing the first chapter (and defeating the boss with fists, because reasons) by the way.

Graphics are cute and clean, music's nice, gameplay sometimes feels a bit stiff, but the more you get used to it, the more it feels just right. Parrying all Motoori's attacks was sweeter than honey.
Side-activities and secrets were amusing as well.

In conclusion: ples gib mor content i wan bee chirmno wiling too pai monee gaem gud ⑨/⑨

TL;DR:
Game's good, but be ready that you might need to download a software to speed up the game process, as it is awkwardly designed and too slow, without options to speed up the animations and such.

It took me 30 hours (according to steam) to complete this game. In short, it is a creature collector JRPG with 1v1 (mostly, there are rare, but sometimes occurring 1v2 and 1v3, also I'm not taking into account PvP) turn-based battles. Coromon is, obviously, inspired by Pokemon, but if I had to say, it is inspired most of all by more older versions of Pokemon, like Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald.

There are more than 100 (114 according to Corodex, however, due to specifics of some Coromon that I'll refrain from spoiling, I'd just say that there are over 100 of them) Coromon. Some have 3 stages of evolution, some just 2, nothing genre-breaking or game-redefining. There's no breeding, or different branches of evolution, so Coromon're all about just catching. There are 3 variations of each. Standard, Potent and Perfect. If you'd thought of Shinies, you are correct, as well as not.

Standard Coromon appear 97.09% of the time (3101 to 3194), Potent 2.88% (92 to 3194) and Perfect 0.03% (1 to 3194). There's a Potency scale, which defines which one of the three they are. 1 to 16 Potency are Standard, 17 to 20 are Potent, and 21, which is a maximum of Potency, are Perfect. Potency defines how much XP you need before you'll receive 3 free stat points for a Coromon. The more Potency, the less XP is needed to acquire them. Basically, it's like additional level ups that go hand-in-hand with your usual XP progression. That means that unlike purely-cosmetic Shinies, Perfects can be stronger than their Standard counterparts. You may think of those free points as EV (Effort Values), even though that is not entirely true. For PvE it doesn't mean much, however if you're into that, stat changes will be noticeable and will make your creatures stronger, especially later on.

There is a major flaw of this game, and it is it's oldschoolity in some of the design. I'm talking about unskippable/slow animations, strange inventory/menu management, long, unneeded transitions. I've spent 24 hours of the game for 3 first sections of it and then I've given up. I didn't want to speed up the game, but I just couldn't bear it. I've beat last 3 sections of the game in 6 hours. x4 times faster than first half of the game. And I didn't skip content, I've still collected all the Coromon, looted everything, seen the map, etc.

I liked the animations, they are really awesome, as well as Coromon's visuals. However, I really don't want to spend this much time watching the same animations happen a thousand time. You cannot speed them up via game settings, skip is out of question as well. I honestly recommend getting used to the game at it's usual speed, watching those sweet attack animations and such, and when you are used to the gameplay loop and are able to respond to enemies' attacks accordingly, just speed it up. If I would've completed the same game in, let's say, 15 hours, instead of 30, I would've been really happy with it. Now, I really do grieve over so much time spent on weird management and needlessly prolonged battles. Though I still did enjoy the game.

Thank you for reading, I hope you'll enjoy Coromon with or without the need to use a cheat engine or such.

"Yes, I probably will be able to complete this old Japanese arcade shmup, what can go wrong?"
I sometimes do wonder how this retarded head of mine had survived for more than 20 years.

I've barely been able to complete this game with infinite continues.
That being said, even if there's little to no story in it, I still found it really captivating. I've got emotional at the end of the game in all honesty. Even though I'm unsure whether I've understood what's going on.
I will try to complete it at least chapter by chapter, as Ikaruga left a really cool impression on me.

Soundtrack's pure satisfaction by the way. It always managed to get me pumped when it is required, even with the amount of resets that I had.
God bless Japan and Touhou.

Edit: I actually did it chapter by chapter. Took me around 20 hours on normal and quite a few videos on youtube to understand how the heck I'm supposed to beat some of the parts.

Shinra and Kagari are heroes, and so are you, pilot. The ideal is high, but you should never give in.

Wish you all good luck.

Awareness Rooms is a short puzzle with an interesting concept being it's selling point.

The concept is awareness.
Character, that you will control, first will not understand her surroundings, what's the object before her very eyes do,
or what is it even in the first place.
By examining, or trying to interact with strange colored shapes, they will begin to materialise, becoming something you are used to.
Heavy white object infront of you. It is quite big, higher than you, even. Cold to the touch. Smooth.
After you feel around the room, look at everything, maybe even smell, you will notice that that big white thing you saw before isn't just a geometric figure. That's a fridge.
And not just the fridge, this green and soft is sofa, that one, that had a nice aroma, was a plant.
After you will realise what is the place you are in, you will be able to solve the puzzle in the room.
By solving it, you will be able to traverse into the next room, thus repeating the cycle of "awaring" the place, and then solving what's in it.

The game, as I've said before, is quite short, there are just 5 rooms. This way, it doesn't overstay it's welcome with it's idea and doesn't get boring.
But, $5 for a 1-2h game might be a tad bit overpriced.

As a conclusion, I'd say that it's an interesting project that is OK to get on a sale.

Thanks for reading, have a great one.

It's cheesy, it's edgy, it's silly.
But somehow, this VN was kind of fun.

The story is:
a "slightly" unstable dude wants to kidnap a girl and torture her, being the "slightly" unstable dude that he is.
Oh no, something unexpected happens, now he doesn't want to torture her, and instead they start living under the same roof.
After some time, they get to know each other more, which leads to one of two endings.
That's... About it.

VN lasts for 30-40 minutes to get both endings, 1 hour max if you're a slow reader.
There are 3 choices throughout whole game, and as far as I am concerned - only one, which is last, determines the ending.

Some ecchi there, some romance here, some silly situations that way.
If you're looking for short VN, unusual and cliche at the same time, Kidnapped Girl will be an OK one.

Staxel is a Stardew Valley that is toned down in management department. And has building.
Do you know how in SV you have so many everyday chores, that you basically automate yourself to regularly complete those?
Well, in this game there's less management, for more easier/casual experience. Maybe it feels like this because losses are more forgiving in comparison.

In your first in-game day you will be introduced to your new farm, shops run by npcs, and some of the npcs themselves.
As in all games of this type, at first your farm will be dirty, broken, unkempt, etc.
You will have a tiny bit of money, some tools and it's up to you to make it all grow. Metaphorically for your farm, literally for your crops.

Activities available in Staxel are:
  • Farming, duh. There are seasonal crops, multi-seasonal crops, trees, bushes. They have different prices, different growth times.
This is the easiest and the fastest to make yourself some fat cash money.

  • Animal care. Cows to milk, sheep to shear for wool, chicken to get some of those nutritious eggs, and pigs to magically produce bacon.
I'm not joking, you err... Collect bacon from them. Don't ask, please.

  • Fishing. Can you have a game of that caliber without fishing? Of course you cannot.
There is a collection of aquatic creature to get, some of which only appear during events. Some fish may be rarer than others, like Blue Lobster. It can kiss my bass.

  • Bug catching. Collecting some cicadas at summer... Maybe getting this one stick bug that sits 20 meter above the ground, on top of the spruce tree?
Yeah, that will require some parkour.

  • Building. This one here is a but unusual. You have floor blocks, wall blocks, roof blocks to build you some structures from.
It's somewhat strange at first, but once you get used to it, you can make quite a nice looking house, or whatever you were building.

  • Mining, lumbering. It's hard to call it a side activity, really, since it's as simple as using axe to chop some wood, or pickaxe to mine some stone.
There's no ores, or something like that, so don't expect much.

  • NPC interaction. You can gift things to people, take quests from them, which vary from "collect that, craft this" to building someone a pet shop,
or traversing to another island to find a particular item. Once you complete all quests, you can become roommates with the person. It is quite lovely, I must say.

  • Events. There are seasonal events, like Fey Masquerade, Pumpking Feast, Snowdust Faire, which can provide some short but fun break from your daily routine.
Also, every 15 days portals to another islands open for 2 days.

And all these ways to spend your time provide a fun, quiet experience. Co-op is a really nice thing to have in Staxel, too.
I've managed to clock a bit more than 40h in the game, and pretty much 100%ed it.
Note: game eats RAM really badly, 8GB is recommended by the developers. I have 8GB, setting everything to low works fine. Draw distance will be really small, though.

In conclusion, if you're up to some cute, farm-oriented sandbox - this one's for you. Especially if you have a party to play with.

Thank you for reading, have a great one.
