Oh nose, let's all give this game a bad review, cause we were too young when fixes and tweaks were actually done by oneself in the root folder's .ini files.

Fix for Stuttering
> Right Click on all Jade Empire executables in the game folder
> Properties
> Windows XP Service Pack 2 Compatibility Mode
> Save & Close
> Now put that f**kn thumb up for the game

Fix for FPS Cap
> XYZ:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Jade Empire\JadeEmpire.ini
> ClampFPS=1 => ClampFPS=0
> D3DAdapter=0 => D3DAdapter=1
> Now put that f**kn thumb up for the game

Fix for Start-Up Crashes
> Open Notepad
> Save empty Notepad File as "SystemInformation.xml" under XYZ:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Jade Empire\data
> Find "Steam.dll" in Steam library Folder
> Copy "Steam.dll" into Jade Empire game Folder
> Now put that f**kn thumb up for the game

It's the best piece of Art Bioware ever created during its peak, now surrender and die, haters.

god forbid you buy a game that actually works rather than spending hours trying to fix it

Literally makes no sense, it should work if it's on the store.

Yo, I LOVED Jade Empire as a wee 10 year old! Thank you so much for all these issue fixes that I have had yet to see myself.

Great review besides the snark

ight I suggest changing Notepad for Notepad++ which does a better job at showing the data but in a way that makes it easier to read?

What worked for me was Copy the Steam.dll from the main Steam folder and add it to the Jade Empire game folder and it should start up.

Well said, OP. Damn kids today give up and complain the second they encounter a single problem instead of taking a few minutes to fix things.

I have no coding experience beyond basic html commands and you are so right :steamhappy:

Fixing a game bug in 1997:

- Buy the odd book or magazine to learn how to modify files
- Hack about in .ini / .dll / .bat / .exe files until it works
- Feel very proud of yourself and enjoy the game

Fixing a game bug in 2017:

- Hop onto Steam to see if anyone else has solved it
- Complain that the fix doesn't work on your specialist high spec rig and that the devs should've tested it on every combination of hardware ever
- Write a bad review, get a refund, and don't enjoy the game

Call this progress?? :steamfacepalm:

Yo, I'm having issues with stuttering and your fix didn't help. I am running it from origin though, so is that causing some problem?
