I was completely hooked on the charming developers in their regular video updates when Prison Architect went through early access. Their latest creation features the same development process ~in space~. At the moment, the game has a few hours of gameplay, depending on how much you like to play around with building ships, and it might leave you wanting, especially considering the price tag. The reason it's worth a purchase for me is for the development journey in itself. Over the years I've found myself appreciating smaller, more personal experiences and this is exactly what Introversion delivers. I'm following along the developers in their process of forming their idea of the best game they can make and you can really feel the hard work they put in. This brings me just as much joy and appreciation as playing the game itself and it's something you'll never get from any of the big studios.

It's difficult to say exactly what this game will become, but it currently feels most like a mix of Faster Than Light and the older Elite games, that plays like Prison Architect. The biggest strength I think is that it never feels like you're in a rush but at the same time you constantly have to make definitive decisions on how to progress. It's a relaxing but strategic rogue-lite sandbox, if you will.

It's one of those games that found the perfect level of management, creativity and beauty. Highly recommended!
