Early Access Review
This early access game feels more content complete than some released games. Slime Rancher (the original) was a wonderful experience, and this feels like a more streamlined version of that.

With some more polish and optimisation, I may never be able return to the original. While the current content and level of polish isn't worth the asking price, it's almost guaranteed to be within an update or two, even if that takes a little while.

Overall, strong recommendation from me.

Got as a gift from a friend.

It's... not a bad game, the music is quite lovely, but I found the actual placement of items to be incredibly clunky. Often times I'd be forced to redo the same thing three or four times simply because I kept making the same mistake, or the grid system proved to be wholly uncooperative.

...again, I do adore the concept, but with how difficult and frustrating I found the whole experience to be, I cannot recommend it just yet, especially not at full price. For those who desperately wish to recreate the experience of model train sets, this is probably not a bad game for the price, but expect to fight a bit with the placement system.

I may give the game another spin if there's some improvements to the actual building process.

An adorable little game. Don't expect much coming into it, but if you want a little applet that'll help blow off steam now and again, this is the perfect little tool for that.

Don't expect the moon, but for less than ten dollars you're getting a solid relaxation tool.

Painfully difficult, but it hurts so good.

It's rare for me to start a game knowing I have a snowball's chance in hell at winning, and still want to try anyways, but slay the spire manages to be that rare exception. This game is hard, and sometimes rather unfair, yet I seem to keep trying it anyways. Those rare moments where you manage to get everything to go right, and you develop a great strategy with good cards, and smash through all the way to the end makes all the difficulty worth it.

8/10. Art style is spot on, music is decent, gameplay is really good.

The game is increasingly a shell of its glorious self, riddled by bots and neglect. I understand that Team Fortress 2 has already had a much longer lifespan than most games, but most games don't continue to monetise while being functionally abandoned for six years.

I want to love this game again. I want to continue enjoying an experience which is unique in gaming.

Please, Fix TF2.

"Freedom."

That's what this game makes me feel for the most part. The ability to take bird form and fly around with zero restrictions is incredible. The first time you get to do it is such a rush, and it "feels" good to actually fly. Last game I played that actually felt good to play was Dust: An Elysian Tail.

The story's quite interesting too. I'm not done it yet, but from what I've seen it's a unique one.

Map design of the temples is also great, if a little annoying to walk around sometimes. You get a bit used to bird form, so the inability to use it indoors is kind of annoying, but I get why they do it. With bird form any puzzles in the temples would be quickly bypassed.

Lasty, the soundtrack. D e a r g o d. I love this soundtrack so much, especially the flying themes. This is one of the few games where I wanted to buy the soundtrack after less than 20 minutes of playtime. Only Stardew Valley has also done that, and comparing it to that, I might say this one's only a tad below it.

Overall, 9/10. Underrated gem. Could be better optimized I guess. If you like this sorta game, you might also enjoy games like Grow Home/Up.

EDIT: Just finished the game. Ending was... a let down. More specifically, there wasn't an ending. No way of seeing what happened after the ending, nor is there any form of closure. Drops the game down to an 8/10, which is still pretty good in my books.

Without mods, this DLC has issues with the size limit. If you don't want to get the mod to fix that, well... don't bother with this DLC.

If you already have, or are willing to get a mod to fix that, then this is pretty great. Adds an interesting workshop challenge, and many of the new structures are quite fun. The massive underground area that you can explore/clear out is pretty nice too.

Basically, you should really only be buying this if you enjoy using the workshop. It'll be mindnumbingly tedious to anyone else.

Stardew Valley... what can I say?

It takes a lot of inspiration from other well established games, but I find that it does them much better. The art style is amazing, and the gameplay isn't something I tire of easy. The sheer amount of variety in the NPCs, crops, enemies, and fishing, keeps it interesting. My current game is into year 5 now, with me still working away.

Also the farm animals are adorable, and the soundtrack is... something alright. I bought it within an hour of me first playing. What really sold me was the summer music, and the "Valley comes Alive" soundtrack.

(Small update to add stuff about the 1.3 features)
1.3 is quite great, even as someone who hasn't really found the multiplayer to be as good as singleplayer. While this is obviously an update focused on multiplayer, the additions to singleplayer are fantastic and add surprisingly large amounts of flavour and fun despite their smaller size. Can't wait for 1.4! ^^

Game's most definitely a solid 9/10. Buy it even when it's not on sale, as you'll get more than your money's worth out of it.

(Also, buy the soundtrack. It's brilliant.)

It has the basis of what could be a good game, but it was abandoned long before it could ever reach that point.

Don't buy, it's not going to leave early access any time soon.

A fantastic game with a large amount of content. Only complaint is Farbor, which I completely dread. Luckily the dev included a way to cheat your way into not doing that.

Aside from that, I rate this game to be a solid 8/10.
