You know a game is good when you've sunk
100 hours into it and it still continues to be fun and impress. Dota 2 is something I thought wouldn't be all that good, I had heard of the MOBA/DOTA genre for a while now but having trouble with RTSes in the past kind of made me skip past them, especially since LoL has a terrible community but after getting accepted into the beta it's just been quite a ride. Not only is the gameplay great and well balanced the community is so nice (Most of the time.) that they won't mind my mistakes or the occasional pause of the game. The gameplay is very simple, control one super unit with 4+ abilities and level up by killing enemies and other players. To win you must destroy the opposing teams' core structure. This may sound simple but with soooooo many characters to choose from and so many team combos to do it never gets old. But if this wasn't enough, Valve unlike LoL gives every character to you off the bat and even adds a new character every so often. If that wasn't enough every major holiday like Halloween or the Winter Season, Valve inputs a special game mode unique from traditional gameplay that is fun and enjoyable and never overstays its welcome. All in all, I;d say you need to sign up for this beta now because this game is phenomenal and will truly rise to be a tournament favorite if this kind of support from Valve continues. At the end of the day I'd give this game an A and may be considered one of my GOTYs if not only in Multiplayer.
