I love this game a lot, I'd play with bots all the time since multiplayer was a bit daunting for me. Station, Buhriz, Sinjar, Revolt, and Ministry are some of my favorite maps. I liked the maps here more than from Sandstorm because the room and building clearing was more pronounced in this one that I really prefer. It was incredibly fun to attack/defend these grand structures as objectives paired with fantastic shooting and sound design. It may be trivial to some, but the lack of a good single player AI match in Sandstorm drives me towards this game over the sequel.

Regardless, a 9/10 kind of game, solid and fantastic through and through.

Great mod to play Half-Life together with friends, particularly those who wouldn't bother with HL as a single player game. I didn't run into any major issues, at most it was not having a clear filename list for the HL maps (which were combined to reduce level changes), but not a big deal to jot down the Sven map name in between sessions.

I had a great time on my Steam Deck with this, definitely the best verified game I own. There's definitely a charm playing A Hat in Time on controller and it even plays well with Steam Remote Play for splitscreen co-op (it was a blast playing with friends who didn't own it).

I think the game tapers off after Act 2 slightly as you've seen just about all there is gameplay wise after that point. But the moment to moment platforming was fun and while not as refined as say Super Mario Galaxy, AHIT does have charm and can stand proudly on its own feet. Notably, Workshop support and modding is a blessing that grants you another bastion of content to try out in between official acts.

And even after I completed the main story (aprox 10 hours), I got plenty of more mileage with time rift levels (bonus stages), finding yarn to craft the final post-game hat, buying more badges, and then the DLC. The DLC I believe is best purchased through the Ultimate Edition, which gives everything in one purchase (and the DLCs do indeed work on Steam Deck). I bought it on sale for under 20 bucks and I was satisfied. I'm glad to have finally played MechaTheSlag's game after all these years, and if you're looking for fresh new ideas to play, I'd say this is it.

Over the years it has served me well in little projects here and there with a minimal amount of following tutorials. Even though I'm a very surface level user of Blender (for now), I'm grateful for it being there to give people like me free access to some great tools, and I always feel proud of the little projects I make with the software.

I bought this 1 or 2 days before FLODT's price rise from free to $4.99, which does undermine a bit why I bought this pack. If the game was paid, I likely would have skipped over it but that's just the nature of free stuff. I liked the game enough to toss some money as thanks for it, since releasing a free passion project is commendable and bold. Kat's also a cool character (like actually good in a story writing way), so I gotta support who made her.

Besides the generosity reason for this DLC, you get 4 folders in your game files:
  • Behind the Scenes PDF in English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese
  • Background art
  • CG character art
  • 49 "OST" files (6 originals by Sweet Dove, the rest are royalty free songs mostly by Kevin Macleod), one is a minigun firing clip

The PDF was a short read, you see full body concept arts of the characters and some developer notes on the game, but mostly about the characters. I was hoping for some detailed storyboard notes, like flowcharts and how it was planned or something, but no. It's mostly a brief hindsight look onto the project (under 10 min read). The PDF's alright, it is just concept art after all, it even reveals the full names of the girls which I don't remember seeing in the game.

So overall, it's a bit different to me now that the base game's price changed (I do understand and sympathize its price change). Price does impact people's perception of things and products. But for me, my initial reason to support a small indie dev has not changed, and if you share the sentiment, I'd say this is worth a buy. I'll definitely look at FLODT2 if it does fruition one day.

A great introduction game for the Deck that teaches you its capabilities and handling to send you off on other games. Helpful lessons include teaching Steam + R1 takes screenshot, gyro aim has potential in FPS games, and haptic feedback exists. I’m not a fan of washroom humor in general but I tolerate it here because it’s Portal and a tech demo. For Deck, I definitely recommend and approve installing for the hands on learning. Great job, Valve.

Worth your time for more Half-Life goodness. The levels and puzzles are creative and you can finish it in an hour like I did apparently.

It’s my favorite cosmetic DLC of the bunch primarily for its weapon frameworks. The neon changes color to match other weapon paintjobs, and the sharp angular design looks better on dwarves than the rival machines. I don’t purchase cosmetics like this in games very often (if at all), but I have no qualms buying cosmetics to support GSG.

I was gifted the base game for free and decided to buy this and another DLC to pay it forward. It does go on sale sometimes, so if you're broke like me but still want to support somehow, it can fit your budget (another DLC was so cheap, I bought this one to up the price).

The golden framework looks stylish and I like using them with a platinum paintjob for a neat pink platina finish (you can mix and match all frames and paintjobs for a customized look). I appreciated the new toggle checkbox at the bar when buying the Supporter Oily Oaf and the normal Oaf, so you're not locked buying only fancy golden mugs for a cheap drink. And I didn't bother with the headgear, armor paints, gold Bosco, or the pickaxe. So you get cool accessories and you can feel good about yourself supporting great games, pretty good deal.

I appreciate the social themes explored with Max’s time travel and Chloe (yes Chloe). Despite watching the whole game on YouTube, I bought this to have my own playthrough, experience, and choices to make. I was pleasantly surprised to find details on my own and how playing the game at my own pace makes a difference. I would discover things on my own that made me more emotionally attached to the characters, as well as making those “choices matter” parts my own.

It opened me up to savoring LiS and its genre better which I previously didn’t buy into, and I’d go on to play Before the Storm properly blind as a result, not just watching it online. There have been few stories in media that elicit emotional reactions from me and Life is Strange would be one of them. And I highly praise games, books, what have you, that manage to accomplish that.

10/10 Chloe is from this game.
