The trombone, or 'bone' as abbreviated by many,is a concert pitched brass instrument that uses 2 sliders,a back and a main slider,to change pitch.Taking care and providing regular maintenance of your bone can drastically increase its potential during a session, whether public or private.

Your bone's main slider will ocassionally need to be lubricated,and your director will recommend a special lube for you.To lube your bone, simply;
-Rest the tip of the bone's outer slider on the floor and unbuckle the slider from its belt,a small lock.
- To expose your inner slider, push the outer slider away.Pour a few drops of lube into the now exposed inner slider.
-Rapidly move your outer slider back and forth, making sure that the lube is applied evenly. The lube will make your slider move smoother during sessions.
Remember to grease the back slider regularly. Your director will recomend a white, slimy grease to put on the back slider,and will help you apply both the lube and grease when needed.
