Early Access Review
I haven't played since a few new updates, but from my time I've enjoyed it. I like that you can actually BE an animal person so I can insert as my fursona. My only gripe is that things are very repeatative and things are time gated. If you want to build a lot of stuff you're going to have to wait sometimes 5 real world minutes for a bulk order to complete. And I feel like there needs to be a little more things to do.

Do like where the road map is going.

You play as John "Wahoo" Klonoa, ex-Dream Marine of the Phantomillian army. Because of an incident involving Moos, you get your rank stripped from you. But you know you were set up, now it's time to get to the bottom of this conspiracy and fill your enemies full of wind bullets.

I haven't played a Soul Calibur game in YEARS and I'm glad to say that it's back, baby! While I am saddened that some characters have not returned as of the time of this review (Hilde/OG Lizardman/Aeon/Algol/NECRID) there is still a lot of good baseline characters from the games history. On top of this the character creation is here as well. It does seem like it is watered down from the past games. There are no unlockable armors by completeing the game or doing cool stuff. What you see is what you get.

On the topic of Online; there is a lot of issues. Hacking characters in like Inferno or making it so even if you win you will still lose the game and points as it has been shown online, has made it a bit unfun. But Online is just one apple of the bunch. So you can have one bad apple. The Main Story is a retelling of the game. A soft reboot they said which I am okay with. A lot of the old games went a little wild with it with SC5 just making it about 2 characters. So you get your own character driven stories again and you can have your own Character have their own story in Libre of Souls.

Other than that, I dunno. Lizards. Lots of Lizards.

Still the game I come back to every once in awhile just to shoot up Dinos and fly around with my Jetpack.

First game I played with my new computer. Feels good, man.

This game has Q from Star Trek: TNG, The Joker from Batman the Animated Series, space furries and moar.

What more could an dope like me want?

But in all honesty, it's fun. Been playing on and off in Early Access. Came back recently and enjoyed the changes they made. Feels a lot like Civ 5 in space.

Only gripe is that it's a bit shallow in things like diplomacy and ground combat.

Update: Still great fun to play and with the constant updates it's always fun to start a new game.
Also the music is bangin'

The Metacritic score is misleading. That was for Dino Beatdown, not for Horde.
The game has been changed a lot since the days of Beatdown. From the original 3, it has been updated to 10 different dinosaurs. 4 of which are playable in a game mode. Balancing patches, as well as optimization patches have been implemented and the game now runs like butter on my computer. There's a combonation of 50+ weapons and gear, customization of armor color and hats and other cosmetics. The Developers have been working their asses off making this game as fun as possible and it paid off.

So, what is this game like? Halo + Turok + Killing Floor. You've got your standard pistols, machineguns and shotguns and then you get your rocket launchers, laser guns and heavy weapons. Each class has their own special abilities like Jetpacks, cloaking and healing beams, all which can be augmented to be more effective. You can also level your classes for better performance like in Killing Floor which lifts the burden of having to buy certain augments and use that money for other things. You've got player vs dinosaurs, player vs player dinosaurs, player vs player, player vs harder dinosaur waves and Conquest which is coming up soon.

My only gripes right now with it are the animations being a little rough, dinosaurs can be a little derpy and the music is the same in EVERY map. I know that old music from Beatdown will be implemented once Conquest rolls out, but not sure if that's just for the Conquest maps or for all the maps.

But other than that, it's a pretty great game that has my full love.

Lovely game and frustrating as hell, but that's what makes it good. I'm glad I got it. Tripwire has never let me down.

As of this recommendation, the game is bugridden and you got CoD/TF2 Deathmatchers just camping and not following orders. In a few months everything should be about fixed and the kiddies should have left already due to being too frustrated to continue playing so you'll have the hardcore/team oriented players still left.

Plus the price might be down as well.

The "realism" in this game is wonderful. If you get shot, you bleed and you have a few seconds to patch up before you die. You can dial in your range for your guns and weapon placements and everything just seems so authentic.

The class limits help even out the game as well. You've got 1 Commander about 4 Squad leaders, Numerous riflemen, 1 - 2 Marksmen as well as others. Maps are large and expansive. You'll get shot at from distance a lot while traversing the battlefield.

Buy it once it's cheaper.
