This is by far one of the best series of games that I have ever played.

You play as Lee Everett, who was on his way to prison when the infection breaks out. You then find a child, Clementine, who had taken shelter alone in her treehouse. Clem being a child, you take her under your wing. As the story progresses, you grow more emotionally attached to Clem, doing anything to protect her no matter the cost, and stopping at nothing. You become emotionally attached to Lee, and his eventual doom is known as one of the saddest deaths in gaming history.

The first game in the series has good plot and character development, and the emotional attachment and gameplay are intense.
