The mid-quel to Steins;Gate! I played this back when the VN came out for the PS4 and the PSVita. So this review is mostly about the game itself disregarding any edits that may have been applied to the steam version.

The interesting thing about Steins Gate 0 is that we already know how the story ends right from the get go. If you're here and haven't played or seen the original Steins;Gate, there will be spoilers below and I'd strongly advise playing it before playing this one, otherwise you're going to be really confused about everything.

S;G Spoilers------------------
In the True Ending of Steins;Gate, after Okabe goes with Suzuha back in time to save Kurisu and prevent World War III, in his attempt to save her, he tragically ends up becoming the one who ends her life. When he and Suzuha return he is distraught and refuses to go back a second time to try and save Kurisu. After a wake-up call from Mayuri and a video mail from himself in the future, he is able to devise a plan and he goes back for his final attempt. Steins;Gate 0 is the story of that future Okabe. The one who gave up. What this VN does so well is to showcase Okabe's abrupt personality shift and how he tries to cope with the mental fatigue that he went through in Steins;Gate.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Steins;Gate 0 is a brilliant exposition of future Okabe's journey through the world that he forced himself to accept when he gave up. The combination of the soundtrack along with the addition of first person views for other characters help us see Okabe both as he sees himself, and how others see him. While not everything was perfection for me, the game and the story it presented was very enjoyable and I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the original.

Actually one of the most incredible heart-wrenching and exciting visual novels out there. Starts off as a general and basic story and becomes something so much more. Attention to small details and well developed characters help to make this game the masterpiece that it is.

Although it's been been out for a while, it has just been released on Steam and hopefully this will help introduce many more people to this great game.
