They say some pieces of media stay with you long after you finish them—like a wake-up call. Cyberpunk 2077 is exactly one of those.

The first time I played (before patch 2.0, a cracked copy!), I barely understood half the story using Google Translate. And yet, even that half was enough to make me realize I was playing a masterpiece. It was also my very first experience with a true AAA title. Since then, I’ve played many other big games, but none of them left me longing to return the way Cyberpunk did. There’s something different about it—something I couldn’t put my finger on, but it stayed deep in my soul. Later, for the first time in my life, I bought a game on Steam—Cyberpunk 2077—and replayed it, this time with a proper translation. That’s when I realized what I had truly found in this game: myself, and the questions I’ve always had about life.

Cyberpunk isn’t just a game—it’s a journey. Why do you have so much freedom in shaping V? Why is their voice so ordinary—neither deep nor high-pitched, just… normal? Why are your choices limited, but still powerful enough to make someone love you or hate you? Because CDPR wanted you to see yourself in V.

Night City is a place full of burned-out, aimless people drowning in fake dopamine—braindance, cigarettes, alcohol, empty pleasures. In the middle of all this emptiness, V is searching for meaning. And the most beautiful part? You’re never alone. First with Jackie, whose friendship feels so real and pure. Then with Johnny Silverhand, a character who shapes you as much as you shape him. This bond makes sure you never feel lonely, unlike in most other games.

Every character here is wounded, each with mistakes they’re trying to cover up—but from their pain, you find lessons. Still, in the end, Cyberpunk reflects life: solitude. When the credits roll, everyone’s gone. It’s just you, left alone with your choices.

And the big question remains:
Will you go back under the corporations’ leash? Sacrifice yourself for someone else? Or fight back and take control of your own life?
