Ubisoft delisted this game adding that it will be inaccessible following September 1st, 2022. So I basically bought a digital paperweight. Thanks Ubi.

I'll end this brief review with a quote that should be fully understood before purchasing any Ubisoft titles.

"We think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem," he said. "If a pirate offers a product anywhere in the world, 24 x 7, purchasable from the convenience of your personal computer, and the legal provider says the product is region-locked, will come to your country 3 months after the US release, and can only be purchased at a brick and mortar store, then the pirate's service is more valuable." -Gabe Newell

Edit: Big thanks to YongYea for featuring my review in his video on this topic

DaemoniKira, You talk as if you are surprised, you have always rented games, never purchased them. It was the same back in the 1990s if you ever read the user manuels.

You buy a a one time life time license. It has ALWAYS been like that.

Unfortunately, I've noticed most --if not all-- somewhat-recent game titles that we buy that aren't subscription-based (so one-time purchase only, for things like these RPGs), have stated somewhere in their End-User License Agreement that what we are purchasing isn't the game, but "the right to use the software/game". They explain it's basically we pay $60 to "rent" the game indefinitely. So... unfortunately, this is something they can absolutely do. It's absolutely fucked and I imagine they backtracked their decision because gamers basically said "ok Ubi, you do that and you're done, fuck you forever". I don't have this game so I can't comment on the EULA for this specific game, but I'm just noting most games these days specifically mention that we don't actually OWN anything. Just one more reason why everyone fucking hates EULAs.

For those here saying its DLC, it wasn't originally it was the whole thing and if you are stupid enough to believe it was a mistake... Then you are living in a fantasy world.

Hold on a minute, it just says DLC.

Still, this is a clear message to everyone that piracy is also an option not only to have free games, but to backup old catalogue companies for some reason want to stop selling. Do not buy anything from these companies that don't respect the past.

Everyone here defending Ubisoft like they aren't going to do this eventually to one of their games and get away with it.

They clearly didn't word it correctly, every other game had fairly clear points that it was just DLC. Whoever put the notices up probably thought this was a DLC and put the DLC message in.
Elrond_Buggard 12 лип. 2022 о 2:53
This was seemingly correct until yesterday, but Ubisoft have changed their notice on the Steam page for the game since then. It was it wouldn't be accessible, not now it just says that for the DLC. So either they did a u-turn following backlash, or they made a mistake in the original notice. Take your pick.
