I do enjoy playing Icarus - but mainly missions. It will be nice to see some new content for this aspect of the game as opposed to more additions to the open world - or find a creative way to bring said items into the missions. Better yet, finally release the first expansion.

I have played more survival games than one should play, lol. I would have skipped this originally back in the day and only snagged recently to play with my son. And at the end of the day, whether you grab it for the $3 or $12 its totally worth it. Is is smaller in the scheme of survival games, sure. It shows it age/polish compared to some of the other titles, but for the price paid and given the estimated time it will take to chew thru it all. Will easily get our monies worth and have fun doing it. It kinda like buying a "B" movie, don't expect the same from an "AA" movie, but a good time can still be had.

Waste of money, game is fun until...you die. The idea is good, gameplay is good, but don't get me wrong, I enjoy a difficult game, but like in any survive game, bad happens and you die. This is where the game ceases to be fun. Once you die, the game becomes, let spend all your time trying to get back to your base (unless you happen to have enough Fame Points). The random respawn on the map is a joke. Death is a punishment, but then they stack punishment onto of dying and then add another punishment for good measure. I want to like the game, but if I wanted to play a running simulator, I would play Death Stranding. Luckily Icarus is launching soon, so I can forget about this waste of money. If they fix the spawn method, I would reconsider, but not the way it is now - and not going to waste anymore time than I already have, way better games to be playing.

First impressions only, way too earlier for a review. I have played way too many games of this genre, so always looking out for the next one to play. This one caught my eye and I can say, I won't be asking for any refunds. First impressions are good and I will be playing more (and perhaps getting a copy for my son, since we usually play these together). Had no issues in the little time I played (beyond way too small initial resolution - could barely read anything to change it, lol). The graphics are fine, the trailers are not the best example (was my impression when watching them), think of it as a higher resolution Minecraft. The hammer controlling the ability to craft at first seemed a little odd, but not bad once used to it. Looking forward to seeing more of the game, so if you are a fan of this style of game, I would recommend giving it a try, I may or may not update this first impression, lol.
