A classic, hearty meat sauce that is perfect for a weeknight dinner.Ingredients:2 tbsp olive oil400g (1 lb) beef mince1 onion, finely diced2 garlic cloves, chopped100g grated carrot (optional, adds sweetness)2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes400ml beef stock400g dried spaghettiSalt and pepper to tasteMethod:Brown the meat: Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the beef mince and brown it well, breaking it up with a spoon.Sauté aromatics: Add the onion and fry until softened and translucent. Add the garlic and cook for another 2 minutes. Add grated carrot.Simmer sauce: Add the tomatoes and stock. Stir well. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes until the sauce has thickened.Cook Pasta: Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in a large pot of boiling salted water according to package instructions.Serve: Drain the pasta and toss it directly into the sauce. Serve with parmesan cheese
