Put 400 hours into Civilization before being introduced to this game which is better than CIV especially the newer ones.

Imagine civ but you can in depth control the outcome of each combat fight if the Auto-resolve looks dodgy, less emphasis on diplomacy (AI dont hate you for no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason but also trade and interacting with them is also less important) and the world events are impactful.
