One of two Halo games that Microsoft negotiated out of Bungie before they left. It's such a fantastic entry. Atmospheric and gives a much better feel as to how an invasion of Earth would affect everything. Score is incredible.

It's got all the right components but every single thing is off ever so slightly. Master Chief talks a LOT compared to previous games. Spartan ops are repetitive. Campaign missions are pretty good but there's not one I could pick out as the favorite like in the previous games. No flood, which I guess makes sense because it's all outside the galaxy.. Cutscenes look great. There's sprinting (finally). The score is OK (compare this score to ODST or Reach; no competition).

It's decent continuation in terms of the halo story, but there's a lot that is only explained in books.

tl;dr: more dying light = good fun, but it's the same fetch quest formula.

adding a buggy to dying light sounds like a great idea. it isn't really, because this game (still) has no fast travel system. drive for hours, do thing for minutes, drive for hours again.


In the opening of this DLC, the plot already stops making sense. If we're to believe that you can play this DLC at any point, then this could happen before the ending of the main game. why would Crane do any of this before the end of the main game (especially if the Ministry is threatening muh fire bombs). If it's supposed to take place afterward, then why would the Tower be running out of Antizin; shouldn't the air drops resume since the Ministry is no longer trying to obliterate Harran? Hell, just send in the world's military and clear out the place finally. problem solved!

And in the last part of this DLC, Crane can finally make a decision! too bad that the decision is already made, since one is canon and one isn't.
