Brutally-challenging sometimes but it's good fun, especially if you can get a team of four of your mates going

Highly dynamic workplace with a huge focus on teamwork and collaboration; remuneration package is competitive and fringe benefits are plentiful. Company culture is extremely positive but has some unusual quirks to it - they are charming however, and you'll pick up on them quickly.

Some minor issues: company-issued equipment has inherent faults that hinder work progress at times, which is occasionally frustrating (albeit never a safety issue). Efficient planning and co-operative attitude more than makes up for these occasional shortfalls.
Upper management is difficult to contact to say the least - everything goes through middle management first, who can be sticklers for regulations but on the whole are not unpleasant to deal with.

Altogether an amazing workplace, I highly recommend "DRG" (as the company is affectionately known internally) to anyone seeking an exciting and rewarding career in the mining industry, but are unable to find suitable challenge and compensation on our home planet.

I also highly recommend keeping your pickaxe sharp, and packing as much ordnance and ammunition as your spine can withstand. The bugs are bloody dangerous and they soak up lead like a wino soaks up booze.
