Pretty ok, good art style, unfortunately keeps all the tedium from the horror games it's inspired by (backtracking, inventory management, puzzles you have to memorize) so i'm not really into it. if that's for you, that's great. but it's not for me.

very good, high quality survival game with lots of fun quirks and a great setting.

endgame gets grindy and they REALLY want u to block

the setting is super fun, going deep into the koi pond where that thing can just eat you is so scary lol

If you like a good story, a good brawler, good minigames, or good humor - This game has all of them.

Not changing my review to positive. Actually balance the guns so people don't just use the quasar and autocannon and for god's sake add cars already.

You can make 3 armor sets that have the same effect for the monthly $10 passes, 3 guns that suck ass, but you can't add cars?

game seems to have been redone from the ground up to be geared towards single player with the AI squads and commanding them, multiplayer's pretty tough with less than 4 people tbh. still pretty cool

it's not great

Risk of Rain should never have become a 3D game. This is the real Risk of Rain 2 to me.

Hitboxes and danger zones are clearer, attacks have screen-shaking, enemy-knockingback OOMPH to them.

Characters and items are overhauled, rebalanced, and given a fresh coat of visual paint with more animations oozing personality.

Options are available to disable the new items, and how the teleporter event works.

fun now, sucked before.

great for $5, you can lose a day playing terraria-lite with villagers you can hire to automate stuff like farming and sorting chests.


but

the closer you get to endgame the more you have to grind damage-sponge bosses that aren't fun to fight, the very endgame is literally randomly generated dungeons with goals like 'mine x material, fight a boss just for material, use material to summon harder portal, use THAT material to make current endgame gear'

so take it slow and enjoy yourself
