A fantastic TRPG. The story is layered, the music is incredible, and the updated visuals look great. The difficulty of the encounters definitely varied a lot over the length of the story, with some of the earlier encounters being significantly more difficult than many of the later encounters. I accidentally played an almost challenge run as my first play through, by not using any of the named story characters in my party, but I enjoyed having the connection with my party from the start.

The game systems are complex, sometimes to their own detriment. The Zodiac compatibility system could be entirely ignored, and Bravery/Faith did not seem to have a massive impact outside of the Shirahadori ability, and for Treasure Hunting. The job system can take some time to get used to, but once you understand what it's doing then it's not too bad to use. Balance between the classes isn't even, but when it's some of the later classes that have taken significant work to unlock it makes sense for these to be strong. The Arithmetician class, for example, is slow to unlock but is highly powerful (and very fun).

Getting the 100% completion required a lot of grinding at the end, but was mostly just a time commitment rather than a difficult task.
