(With 800+ Hours having fun with Fallout 4 - and a Steam Sale going on now - it's time to write a DLC Review!)

Make your own Robots!

(Hundreds of Combinations, including Melee or Ranged of different types of damage)

Make them carry everything!

(More than twice as much as you can, it means less ‘trips into town’ to Unload/Sell)

Make Settlements “Robots Only”!

(No need for food/water/etc anymore, for those Settlers you choose to replace)

With the addition of ‘Robots galore’ in the game as Enemies and Settlers, you are now able to create your own - where you can configure almost any combination of weaponry in the game - including some new ones (put Missile Launchers and Cryo/Flame/Lasers on ‘em!). You can even give them Skills (the same as your Perks you would have chosen, to save you using Perk Points). You can, for example, create a Companion that can Hack Terminals or Pick Locks, so that you can use your Perk Points you would have spent on those, for other Skills!

They can be your Companions (like Dogmeat, etc) and you can even give them ‘personalities’ (like Codsworth, except that they don’t dislike anything you do, they’ll ALWAYS like you). You can make them carry tons of loot (find the best combination of parts to do this and they can carry more than twice what you can!).

You can make some or all your Settlements nothing but Robots if you wanted – no more worrying about Food/Water/etc…. Guards can now be those huge Sentry Bots you see, as they are great for guarding Settlements (Proof).

There is a nice little Quest Line, with an Encounter and a few Missions to Unlock the ability to make the Bots; then there is what appears to be Radiant Quests after that (repeatable quests for XP/Loot/etc – you can even find Settlers by doing the Radiants!).

Along with all of the new Bots, there are some new Armor Types and Styles (Robot parts you can wear!), which you can use yourself or put on Settlers or other Companions. Sadly, there doesn’t seem to be any new additions to the Workshop (Building) mode – no new decorations/etc (as far as I can tell so far).

The Questline/Story isn’t bad – it has some suspense actually (you can tell just by listening to some of the Soundtrack that this person isolated at Youtube). It has a decent premise/concepts and there’s some humour in it; but it’s a little short. It does show you a whole new area though – and a new place for a Settlement there – you can make it your ‘new home base’ if you want (it is easily defendable!).

While this DLC would have been an amazing deal at 4.99 USD, I understand the higher price of 9.99, considering the extra work put into it and what is essentially a whole new ‘race’ and the new 'quests' and the new ‘items’ that are put into the game that are useable by you, the player. If it is on a Steam Sale, it would totally be worth it (it is on sale now at 5.99, get it! GO NOW DO IT NOW GOGOGO).

Overall: 8/10 from me, a nice little story in it but the main thing is the robots, of course. You can create crazy combinations that kick butt or carry everything, you can replace Settlers or create your own Companion. While it doesn’t add much for ‘settlement builders’ in the way of items/decorations, the robots still do it for me.

With or without it, have fun with Fallout 4!
