Thinking back to my 'sigma psychosis trip' (written a few months after the trip)
It started out with the idea that I was experiencing something I described as 'sigma psychosis', but I wasn't quite sure what that meant. I had had 12 R30s, which isn't quite 3rd plat, and maybe D.PH? if so 100mg or less. The idea that I experiencing sigma psychosis felt incredibly insightful, so my reality and thoughts warped to understand what this might mean. I definitely wasn't at plateau sigma, but I believed that the DXM had agonised my sigma receptors more strongly than normal. Also sigma is a Greek symbol, and I experienced lots of 'symbolic hallucinations', i.e. text overlaid onto objects. Sometimes there might have been meaning to this text, whereas sometimes it was too abstract or alien to understand.
This idea seemed to 'infect' other ideas that came into my head, so the ideas would be connected to sigma in some sort of graph. The idea that it was like 'burnt plastic' and 'pyros' felt relevant, despite the fact that I have never taken anything like pyros. The ideas that it had a hexagonal form, and made my perception feel more vibrant, felt salient. At some point I looked through covers of albums suggested to me, and one felt particularly vibrant, so I gave it a listen.
For whatever reason, I also read through some reports relating to The Troubles in Ireland, and I had incredibly vivid imagery (still warped by sigma) of the violent events in that report.
Despite the fact that I described this as psychosis, it felt quite easy for me to de-conflate ideas, such as all of the different things 'sigma' could mean. I believe with conventional psychosis that it becomes easier for ideas in your head to become conflated, perhaps to the point where it becomes easy to misinterpret simple sentences other people are saying
