There was a time in this game's history when I would've given this a highly positive rating, but instead every time I come back to this game I just feel a sense of disappointment. I played this game very regularly for a decent amount of time, including its Alpha, Beta, and about halfway into Season 2... This game at one point, was designed to be a semi-realistic arcade melee fighting game in a low fantasy setting where magic wasn't very common aside from extremely niche cases. The game was something akin to Call of Duty in realism, where its aesthetics were realistic, but everything else was wacky. But even with the Magic existing the actual heroes were just melee fighters. There was no teleporting or magic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flying at you...

The game's balance was never the best, in typical Ubisoft fashion, if you want an example look up the very first For Honor tournament. The finals were all Peacekeepers, and I think ONE Warden if I recall correctly. Peacekeeper was at one point in a state where you could close your eyes wiggle your stance around, spam left click, and win most engagements. There were nerfs sometime after this tournament, but the game soon became much worse when Season 2 dropped in my opinion.

Season Two added Centurion and Shinobi. When Shinobi was added the game broke away from its identity, The playerbase being okay Shinobi's teleport paved the way for all of the other Magic ♥♥♥♥ in this game, and cemented the fact that faster characters would be the norm for a lot of the characters they would add in the future, along with the usual Ubisoft practice of releasing characters that obsolete other characters Lawbringer -> Gryphon as an example.

Everytime I come back to this game I feel more, and more like it's a game that's just disappointing, I don't hate the games gameplay, I don't hate it's core mechanics, I don't hate the maps. I hate how far the core design of this game has wandered since it's alpha/beta, I hate how much it's turned into a fantasy game with dragons being on every other map, and I hate how many characters get added for no reason other than they HAVE TO because of Ubisofts ♥♥♥♥ game development Formula. If they had focused on the Heroes they had, instead of repeatedly jumping the Shark this game would be so great... But instead, the game is just mediocre... This isn't a "Not Recommended" because the game is bad, it's just a shadow of it's former self.

I'm just disappointed.

Early Access Review
Starbound, a game in which you start off as nothing more then a random lucky survivor of your planets dimise... but you never give up hope you continue to explore, adapt, survive... and eventually explore other planets, find new places, find a new home... or maybe a new adventure...

Starbound is on its way to greatness the level of customization in this game is ridiculous, the amount of worlds to explore is waaaaay too much for any one person to do alone this game isnt even half way done and its looking better then similar games like Terraria did when they were in this form, this game may not be complete but it is still quite good...

One of my major gripes in this game that will probably be fixed with time is the community, there are no really good multiplayer servers that aren't prone to random crashes and disconnects all the time, and I cant really say for certain if it was the game, or the servers that are running, I mean the most populated server(that I've found) is a RolePlaying server, and thats not a problem, its just not for everyone. Also Local/Port2Port/Hamachi servers ran by players can be hit or miss sometimes depending on who is connected, its odd that certain people can just lag the entire server.

The Graphics are pretty good, however if you play with a "higher then normal" Resolution the graphics can seem extremely pixelated, even more then they do now, and a massive amount of projectiles can lag some computers.

The Music is also really good, its very calming but also very... Lonely, I can only really compare it to Chrono Trigger's music it just has that same feel...

All in All its a pretty amazing game for Early Access, I'd recommend it.

This game combines an Tower Defense game, and an action battle system into one quite well actually, theres CO-OP and plenty of weapons and traps to keep you entertained for quite awhile.
