For harry potter fans, it's great.
The game itself though is dull, repetitive, and boring after a while.

Really I'm just pissed about the $30 DLC for something that should've been in the base game (quidditch)

♥♥♥♥ EA and your "use our launcher even though you're on steam" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. These conglomerates need to be stopped.
♥♥♥♥ game, ♥♥♥♥ company, ♥♥♥♥ everything.

Slowly walked through the alley of a run down house. Boarded windows, light from the TV peaking through, but dead silence. My orders were to breach and clear. As I reached the back of the house, preparing to lock-pick the door, I heard some shouting, then heavy footsteps, and finally a flash of light. I got lit the ♥♥♥♥ up by some meth-head peaking out the second story window.

10/10

This game is great and will appeal to you if any of the following describes you:
-You have autism
-You like management games
-You like strategy games
-You watched star trek
-You're a nerd (see above, one doesn't go without the other)

However this great game is killed by the fact they released (and continue to release) garbage and over-priced DLCs. A few are good and worth the $ (ON A SALE) but the rest are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, adding nothing to the game. Even if it SEEMS like it adds a lot, don't be fooled. Some of the DLCs are "reskins" of existing mechanics in the base game. You're basically throwing money in the garbage.

I have over 400 hours total on console. Hands down one of the best games I've ever played in the past 10 years. I'm a 25yo heavy equipment operator that doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about story or turn based games, let alone DND, but this game was able to take this average joe and LOCK ME IN.

Compelling story lines, freedom of choice, CONSEQUENCES, character creation, class selection, a living breathing world, all come together to form a masterpiece. It's blatantly obvious that those involved in the production of BG3 really cared about the end product, really cared about the game. Not for money, but for pride, or whatever else motivated them.

Larian Studios has shown these greedy ass game ruining AAA devs how to do it right. They said no DLC's- and while I respect their reasons behind that, I wish they would retract that statement... We all agree, we want DLC's, we will pay for DLC's. Larian has earned our respect and trust. I doubt they will, off principle, but a man can hope.

I run various heavy equipment for a living. This game fails to capture the "feeling" of it all. Especially the dirt work.
It's an artform, and you can't capture that on a screen.
My friend bought this for me wanting to know what I thought.
Hot. Garbage. It's a boring task simulator.
If you want to run equipment, get a f***ing job lmao.
Everyone needs help rn. Go to any site with excavators. Say "I have no experience, but want to learn, do you need haul truck drivers"
Boom. Job.

(I'm still going to put atleast 10 hours into the game before I leave me review alone*)
Regardless, this is basically a "do the most monotonous thing in a game" waste of time. You might as well play lawn mowing simulator.. The physics are horrendous, and very forgiving (the cranes have "safeties" in the program that don't even allow you to swing it around and break something). Digging trenches/moving dirt is the same way. There's not specific grade you are told to get it to, just ram your bucket into the trench over and over, or just push dirt randomly with a dozer, and the progress meter will slowly tick up. ie there is no challenge. it's just "go here and press some buttons" "ok now go here and press some buttons" over and over and over and over and over.

Early Access Review
At first I thought this game sucked.
Then I blamed the somewhat iffy AI.
Then I realized I just suck.

It's a bit complicated to learn how to work the AI. I doubt it's a polished system. Best advice I can offer so far is "move when clear" or whatever on most your nodes. That's helped me. 8/10 challenging, engaging, intuitive. I still can't complete a level without pausing.

Buy if on sale**
Walked in a building, shot guy with gun in face, civilian pulled gun, killed partner, executed me. Played again, took 10000000000 tries to get a "perfect" run- still got a B minus, rage quit, played rocket league, came back, played 30 hours.

Your AI partner has a touch of the 'tism.. but after some infuriating and harsh lessons taught by a bandana donning aimbot's .45, you're going to keep trying out of spite. With steam workshop, it's somewhat re-playable, but not really. Just more maps, and the concept gets old after a full play through or two.

Buy this instead of MW3.
Hit my peak in this game. Hit clips left and right. Stopped playing when vanguard released and was advertised in the Cold War store (was my last straw for the franchise. Haven't bought another). With yet another disappointing money grab DLC masked as a full game (MW3), I cried in my room for 7 hours straight, reminiscing about COD's past. Then I remembered, Cold War, a dim light within the darkness that is Activision. Perhaps.... a Christmas sale can ease my pain.

Bought this on sale for $20. Rather play this than MW3. Hopped in a game. Had fun. Don't regret it at all. SBMM is still better than "Optimized Experience Matchmaking......"
