Early Access Review
Experienced on the Meta Quest 3. VR RATING ONLY!

I am only reviewing the VR experience currently playing this. Also, there is currently no official VR support. If you want to play this in VR, I only know of two different ways to play it in VR, each with its own drawback.

The first way I played this in VR is using the free open-source Geo-11 3D mod. You just have to find it and download it. Then copy and paste into the game folder with the executable file. By default, the install files have it as SBS 3D with separation and convergence meant for 3D TVs. So you will need to modify these files to work with a VR headset. I lowered the separation and convergence since the VR headset is a much closer screen to your eyes. The bad news is that without a specific 3D fix for the game, you will get either a strong 3D effect, but with a double image or a weaker 3D effect, but with a reduced double image (only near items like your weapon). There is no way around this without a game profile. I then used Virtual Desktop to view the SBS 3D in my VR headset.

The other way to play this game in VR is using Vorpx with a Unity 2022 game profile. I chose the profile for The Planet Crafter. I was able to get Geometric 3D using this profile. The 3D was not as good as the Geo-11 3D mod, but the game did not have any ghosting. Vorpx also seemed to run poorer.

I thought overall, the game looked good either way as long as you keep your expectations realistic. It's basically like watching a 3D movie with your 3D TV, but the 3D is not perfect. It doesn't look as good as the UEVR mod, but it's not that far apart from UEVR either. It looks better than just playing it in pancake. I wouldn't recommend buying the game to play it in VR using one of the two above methods because they aren't that great currently (without specific game 3D fixes). However, if you already own the game, I think it looks good enough, better than pancake IMO.

VR Rating 6.5/10.

@DoS yeah I was having fun playing this, it reminded me of the first time playing Skyrim (only updated for modern gaming)

Tainted grail is an awesome universe. Can recommend the boardgame for an epic campaign. Also Iss Vengance from awaken realms!
